Lola grew up hearing great jazz vocalists, because her mother always played their records and sang along. Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughn began influencing Lola at a young age. All through high school and college, Lola was active in music, singing in choruses, playing piano, and then earning a degree in Music Education. Since she's always loved children, Lola became an elementary school music teacher. She met Dave in Dec. 1999 (Dave is a jazz musician - a multi-instrumentalist with his own jazz combo.). It wasn't until she married Dave in 2002 that she began her solo singing career (singing with Dave's band). They began playing in restaurants and clubs. Lola quickly developed an extensive repertoire, and keeps adding to it constantly.
Lola, influenced by Diana Krall and Jane Monheidt, has developed a vocal style all her own. Her voice and Dave's playing are a perfect match. They truly do make beautiful music together! This CD "This Can't Be Love" is top notch, and very professional. Enjoy!
