Talented songwriter and blues harp player, incredible musicians (Lightnin' Harpo Blues Band), combine on 19 original songs ranging from boogie keyboard, jailhouse ballad, psycho blues, the ultimate country lovesong, to 15 others that make this the ultimate blues album.
Rudy Young is an artist/musician who has been writing songs and fronting a blues band since the age of fourteen. The original songs on this particular CD were recorded at various studios, with various mixing engineers, but combine to give the listener a style they may never have experienced before.
A couple nights in the Putnam County Jail when he was young gave him the inspiration for "Willie," and the music world one of its most perfect jailhouse ballads and guitar instrumentals.
From the timely Booker T-style boogie, "You're To Blame, Houssein" to the ultimate country love song, "Wastin' My Time," and variations such as the Caribbean-flavored "Flower Of Sangria" to the ravaging rock guitar "Drinkin' All By Myself" these songs make Rudy Young / Boogie & Ballads a definite blues-collector item.
