Album Notes

For as long as she can remember vocalist, songwriter, and fine arts painter Yvonne Blasy has been in love with music, art, and creative process. She began training in classical piano and voice at the age of six. Involved in choral and solo work in her early years, she also took up the guitar and was greatly influenced by the folk movement of that time. Her commitment to music has remained with her throughout her life, resulting in a repertoire of original compositions influenced by many genres including old style cowboy songs, show tunes, spirituals, folk, new age, and world music. If asked what "style" her music is, she would define it as "genre-less". Yvonne performs at fund-raisers, festivals, funerals, retreats, religious ceremonies, retirement homes, weddings, and wineries, or wherever there is opportunity to share music. She also has a keen interest in the influences of music and the fine arts on spirituality and wellbeing. As a Creativity Coach, she holds workshops and study groups for those interested in developing their creativity. Yvonne is a member of the Riversong Music Society and the Berrien Artist Guild, both based in southwest lower Michigan. She has performed at the Box Factory for the Arts and on local public television. She works continually with her Muses in creating songs with meaningful messages, stories, and observations about life in general.

REVIEWS

Something that crosses "genre boudaries"
author: FreeSpirit
This is thoughtful folk music that deserves to be listened to! This artist reveals a passion for life and a deep understanding of it. Much of it has a spiritual or metaphysical haunting side without the too-far-out element. Not just more kid's stuff or soupy, co-dependent love songs. You go, girl!
