Hi, I’m Zack. I’m 15 years old and music is my life. I love to listen to it, play it, and create it. I’d like to think that I’m normal, but while most of my friends are going to parties or playing at the beach, I’m either practicing at home or playing at some bar somewhere. So needless to say my best friend is probably my guitar. From what I hear, I am the only kid in the state of Florida that plays out like I do legally with a permit issued for every venue I play and that makes me feel so grateful that I chose to pick up that dusty guitar in my closet after all those years.
I’ve lived in Florida all my life but my goal is to save enough money to go to Nashville. Every penny I earn gigging goes to my college fund. College is real expensive these days, you know? Anyway, when I first started playing, I didn’t expect too much of it. I actually didn’t like it. The strings hurt my fingers, and nothing sounded right. But after a few tries, and a lot of pain, I noticed that there might be something worth trying in this cheap guitar I had.
Lets fast forward, oh let’s say, 6 months. My social life has totally come to a standstill because of that silly little guitar. Only at this time, I became addicted to it. This might sound really crazy, and if your reading this, I don’t blame you if your thinking, “This kid’s just a weirdo.” Well, I probably am! But, I’m so happy I am through I am and that I can say what I want and do what I do. Anywho, I was spending about 5 hours a day strumming my guitar. Thankfully, my wonderful Dad (Who had a considerably AWESOME moustache BTW) bought me my Pride and Joy, A SRV strat. Any non-musicians reading this right now are probably like, “huh?” but my guitar playing buddies out there know what I mean. I am so happy my Dad bought me that thing… It lead to a love affair that I hope lasts my whole life.
Now, I’m playing out as much as I possibly can, posting videos, tweeting, Facebooking, you name it, doing anything I can to try and get out there. It’s my dream to play in front of thousands of people all singing my songs with me. But I’m not just expecting some sort of miracle, I know I’m going to have to work harder than I’ve ever worked at anything to get where I want to be. That’s why I am so grateful that you have taken the time to read this whole thing!!! Just for that you deserve, like, a huge hug!!! I know that without fans like you, I’d be nowhere. So I believe that with the help of people like you, my dreams will become a reality. Every video you share or comment you post or tweet you share about me are so helpful! I love you guys for that! And I love you all for reading this!!!
Thank you so much, for everything. In the time you read this, you could have eaten, like, 3 and ½ whitecastle sliders! But I’m so happy you decided to spend it with me :) Much love from Florida!
