“His voice really rubs me the right way”—Mae West
Mike Clifford is a renowned recording artist and actor who now delights his fans in the country’s top nightclubs with his singing partner of 20 years, Sandy Zacky. Skyrocketed to fame by his first big hit in U.S., “Close To Cathy,” on United Artists Records, Mike also starred in the dual roles of Johnny Casino and Teen Angel in the first national touring company of the Broadway hit musical Grease, on the road for two years with John Travolta and Barry Bostwick. He first toured the U.S. and Canada as the featured balladeer with The Dick Clark Caravan of Stars. His TV appearances include his prime-time debut on The Ed Sullivan Show, performances on The Joey Bishop Show, The Mike Douglas Show, American Bandstand, The Donald O’Connor Show, The Jose Feliciano Show, Shindig, and his own TV Special, The Mike Clifford Show. He had a recurring role on the daytime dramatic series, Never Too Young, co-starred in the motion picture, Village of the Giants, and sang a duet (“Love Will Keep Us Together”) with Mae West in the film, Sextette. He also has had hit records and a celebrated TV Special in Venezuela. His other hits include “What to Do With Laurie,” “One Boy Too Late,” and “All the Colors of the Rainbow.”
“Sandy Zacky is a treasure, a master of song interpretation, following in the footsteps of Rosemary Clooney and Mabel Mercer”—songwriter Adrienne Anderson (“Could It Be Magic,” “I Go to Rio,” “Déjà vu,” etc.)
Veteran vocalist, Sandy Zacky, has been a popular performer with an extensive series of engagements at leading venues across the western states. Sandy has worked as a solo artist as well as with her partner, Mike Clifford.
In her teens her brother introduced her to the legendary Sam Cooke who took her under his wing and mentored her early singing career. At the time of Sam Cooke’s death Sandy chose to set aside her musical ambitions for the world of fashion and quickly became a top full figure model, working with Pierre Cardin among others. She was featured in many of the important fashion magazines of the day, including several times in BBW. She was also an accomplished fine art photographer displaying her work at Los Angeles area galleries.
During this period Sandy married and left the road long enough to raise three wonderful and successful sons. While working as a wife and mother she attended Cal State Northridge graduating Summa cum Laude in Literature.
When Sandy returned to performing, she gravitated to the L.A. jazz club scene for its intimacy and spontaneity. She lost none of her early magic and again impressed booking agents with her talent leading to regular appearances at Rose Tattoo, LeMondrian, Perino’s, Vine Street Bar & Grill, Cinegrill, Gardenia, the St. James Club (headlining a special tribute to Sylvester Stallone). She also performed at The Variety Arts Center, the famous Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (opening for Milton Berle), and even The “Fabulous” Forum.
The act developed a cult following including renowned vocal coach to the stars Richard Loring, who introduced her to pop icon Mike Clifford. Sandy's collaboration with Mike resulted in an entertaining show that evolved into a long-standing stage attraction (working with small group or orchestra) and after many years, the release of their first CD containing memorable recordings of treasures of classic and contemporary pop music.
Sandy and her husband Ron are well known philanthropists in the Los Angeles community. They serve on the board of governors of Cedars-Sinai Hospital, as well as generously contributing their time to several other worthy organizations.

Absolutely Amazing!
author: Marcia Quinn
I bought this CD in September and it is one of my most prized possessions. In both the solos and duets, you can actually feel Sandy and Mike’s energy and gusto! From the first tune, "For Once in My Life", to the last, which is their signature song, “Love is Everything,” this dynamic duo display a remarkable infusion of voice and talent. In addition to exhilarating new selections, they pull off old favorites, like "Nobody Does It Better" and "New York State of Mind" with an innovative style and unmatched class. The music is electric and easily took me back to the "good ole" days when you could actually understand song lyrics. Paul Turner’s awesome pops orchestra really blends it together. What great musicians! Add this one to your album collection...you won’t be disappointed!

Timeless & Stylish!
author: Smoothjazz.com Review
SANDY'S SOLOS are five tunes extrapolated from her new collaboration with pop classic vocalist Mike Clifford, LOVE IS EVERYTHING. The five song EP is delightful as it features some of the greatest songs ever written: "I Wish You Love," "The Nearness Of You," "Just The Way You Are," "Cry Me A River" and "New York State of Mind." Doesn't get much better! Sandy’s timeless, crisp and stirring vocals bring to mind Rosemary Clooney’s stylings. You’ll find jazzy, elegant renditions of true standards. Ms. Zacky has been a popular performer over the years with an extensive series of engagements at well known venues in the U.S. Jazz has always been a favorite of hers. The intimacy and spontaneity of the genre speaks to her sense of style and interpretation, which she so thoughtfully conveys on these five pieces here: SANDY'S SOLOS. This lovely and talented performer is leading an inspirational life… she started her singing career under the wing of legendary vocalist Sam Cooke, traversed into fashion and became a top full figure model working with the likes of Pierre Cardin, is happily married and has raised three sons! These terrific new releases, the duet project LOVE IS EVERYTHING with Mike Clifford and her EP SANDY’S SOLOS, are part of an exciting new phase for this vibrant talent. ~SANDY SHORE

Nice to hear real music instead of noise!
author: Pamela Rogers
This CD is a real treat from start to finish. Great vocals and tremendous arrangements. These two vocalists have super harmony and wonderful solo skills. I have the CD and play it in my car at least 3 or 4 times a week. Paul Turner's musicians really outdid themselves and Mike and Sandy deserve the best musical talent available to showcase their talent. If you buy no other CD's this year, make this one a must for you and your gift list!
