"Hey, where'd he come from? Immediately likable vocal qualities and songs that make sense. Think of the appeal of Duncan Sheik. Mark is definately working a little magic on this album of solid and enjoyable music." - (Songwriters Monthly - Philadelphia, PA)
"The LP comprises nine very different, very clear, very intense songs. Embryo, a complex clever song about life itself." - (Amy Lewis, City Search, Denver, CO)
"The result is a professional radio ready effort reeking of life experience and hunger" - (Adrian Glover, Sun Sentinel, Ft. Lauderdale, FL)

Tasteful and thoughtful songwriting and professional production. Excellent effo
author: Robert M. Baker
Six is Fine is Zaden's best work to date, and is in keeping with an aspect of his personality: the desire to learn and improve upon his previous efforts. Mark's vocals are couched in some terrific settings; some lush, some almost sparse, but always flattering to his voice and never distracting. This disc blends much of the best which has influenced Mark over the years. The Beatles' influence can be heard in a tune or two, as well as some Steely Dan (Embryo took me back to them days), and Zeppelin. However, the disc is not hard-edged or raucous in any way. Mark displays his influences as a way of honoring his roots, where some artists display them because they lack originality. Another aspect which he can't escape is the unique South Floridian sound in both the songwriting and production, a very recognizable quality to those who have heard enough of it. Mark's songwriting is fresh and the production, courtesy of New York veteran Nunzio Signore, is clear, innovative, and flattering to Mark's abilities. The musicianship is also very noteworthy, as each of the session players were top-notch. If I had any problem with the disc, it would be that there was not enough of Mark's acoustic guitar work to be heard. Mark is a formidable live performer and his guitar playing adds an important part of his sound. He has a peculiar way of approaching a tune from an instrumental point-of-view, and while some of that is present on this record, it is not as present as it should be. I have been following his career for a long time, and am pleased to see that he met and exceeded his potential in this set of songs. Overall, this was a terrific disc and I'll definitely look forward to his next effort.

Easy on the mind and soul after a long hard day-super good vibe
author: Linda Ayer Holt
Enjoyable sound-really easy to listen too and get lost in. Loved the acoustical guitar-what a sound-boy can you pick! I could easily listen to this during a romantic dinner or on the beach while limin' with a cocktail. Thanks for the good time. Waiting to hear you live down here in St. Croix.
