Album Notes

Zelda Pinwheel play melodic noise.
Zelda Pinwheel weave a variety of instruments, an eclectic scope of influence and a healthy sense of absurdity into a lush tapestry of song and sound.
Various locales of Philadelphia and New Jersey are home to Zelda Pinwheel.
Having existed in a number of forms and flavors since the early part of the century, the core of Zelda Pinwheel is Stephen Quaranta, James Dellatacoma, and Ralph Gould. Their unique recording style and memorable live performances resulted on their taking home 'Top Avant-Gard' honors at the Asbury Music award two years straight.
After having recorded a number of demo collections in their early existence, Zelda Pinwheel has since produced four full lengths, an EP and series of collaborations. Their most recent album, “our Diamonds so quiet” is their most pointed and visceral work to date. It showcases the band's gift for composing songs that are winding and exploratory, yet still concise. At the same time, “our Diamonds so quiet” embraces their roots as an improvisational noise troupe.
“our Diamonds so quiet” will be released on Philadelphia’s own EarSnake records on April 29 of 2008.
