Album Notes

A collection of mew Christmas and Advent songs, as well as my own slant on some old favorites. See Amid the Winter's Snow has been one of my favourite Christmas songs for years, and I wanted to capture the elegance of this simple melody. It has an Olde English feel, with recorder and percussion. We Weren't Expecting You is a energetic number, with a bit of a Cape Breton style fiddle break in the middle. A true song of celebration.
Christmas Rags and Gray Mittens are story songs and have both quickly become favourites of my concert goers. I am so very pleased with That Night and Comfort. Both of these songs are exquisite jewels which speak to the eternal significance of the birth of Jesus.
Jubilate is a song of worship to the King of Kings, born as a child in Bethlehem. Joy is a version of Joy To the World like you have never heard it. This song rocks!

I am so very delighted with this album. It is so much more than I had dreamed it would be. (After six albums it is sometimes hard to "be surprised".) I believe it will be a blessing to you.

Found it! The perfect gift for the new Choral Director at the college where I work. And, after hearing the clips, of course I had to have it too.

A pearl of an album overflowing with feminine warmth. These songs, written by wife and mother Debbie Zepick, seem oddly old-fashioned and sweet, worlds removed from modern American glitz. Her lovely Canadian voice evokes scenes of snowy churches filled with happy red-cheeked children. I bought this CD for my teenage daughters who are learning piano, voice, and guitar. Many of the songs are ideal for Christmas performances. I highly recommend this album to stressed-out moms and their little ones this holiday season. Put it on and curl up with a cranky toddler in that rocking chair by the fire. Or get a copy for a romantic teenager who can never have enough Christmas music.
