Mostly, Joel Zifkin is known as a "sideman", if at all; especially with Kate and Anna McGarrigle.
The CD ? It consists of songs; experiments. Erratica perhaps. Hand made. Hear here.
Zifkin also used to write, sing, and play guitar and electric violin in a secret band called The Bliminals with Jody Golick and Pat Donaldson. They recorded some songs with Roma Baran for the CBC (Radio Canada) and did a number of live performances. Joel (Mr. Boy) has also written and performed music for film,theatre and has done some music production as well.
He still writes experiments with songs.

  • wonderful fresh sound, nicely strange, great whisper voice.

    each song is a different experience, listening doesn't get monotonous. the instrumentation is fresh, reminds me sometimes of flower power sounds and i like that. good lyrics. all in all a great find (saw it on the mccarrigle website). thank you for this music.
