Album Notes

ZILLA was formed by Paulo César and Mark Nagash in the beginning of 2002, precisely in january 20, in a small town called Vale do Amanhecer, Distrito Federal, Brazil. The initial purpose was to play a Hardcore, for this, Bodão was invited to play rhythm guitars & backing vocals.

The band's name choice was interesting. We wished a simple and straight name. A kind of spider's web is one of the first meanings for ZILLA. In Aramaic it means SHADOW, and finally for us, it means resistence.

In june 2004, Wagner became the official bass man in the team, and in this period, the band started the compose own songs. "Dry Throat", "At Full Speed" and "Inside Confusion" became hit for all close fans. In the same year the band made a change in its characteristic and started to play Thrash Metal.

The first recording experience came up in march 2005. The "Dry Throat Demo" was recorded containing 5 songs. In august 13, the band realized the first show outside the boundaries of Distrito Federal, as main band at the "Agosto de Rock" in Miracema, Tocantins. In that ocasion, the band had a good focus by the midia, so, conceiving their first interview to a jornalistic TV program.

November 2006, Victor integrates the band as permanent drummer. In january 2008, the vocalist Paulo César leaves us, and he was placed by Lucas.

With the actual team, in march 2009 the band came up again with full strength recording a new demo with 7 songs called "DEMOnstration Version", only available at our MySpace and the official website.

The band started to record the Debut album PRAGMATIC EVOLUTION in october 2009. All songs was recorded and produced by Caio Duarte at Broadband Productions. In this year the band will release this record containing 11 fast, heavy, melodic and catchy songs, bringing up the pure Melodic Death Metal punch with tips of Progressive Death Metal.
