Album Notes

Thirty years in the blues business and still full of beans and ambition - what a rarity! All the more so because the band's birth place was neither the Mississippi nor the Danube delta - but the very heart of Vienna. What started in 1977 in the legendary Vienna Jazzland has long since become an international brand of the blues. There have been a number of line-up changes throughout the year, but there have also been some proven constants, among them the founder and mastermind of the MBB, Erik Trauner, a confessing 12-bar addict. Another constant - the quality of the band the best line-up always having been the one currently on stage. This again is nothing short of exceptional, but typical for Erik's MBB, about which one of the countless (Chicago) blues legends the band has played with over the years, Taildragger, has said: "They're the blackest white boys I've ever seen." The band's ambition to mix Chicago Blues, R'n'B and Country Blues has given them a special position in the internation who-is-who of the blues. Historically authentic, yet unmistakably and charismatically MBB. Constantly renewing their musical bandwidth. Unspectacular, yet enduring. This album is no exception. And it's the first to also include acoustic tracks, again proving how full of beans they are for the blues. "You got to do your own thing," as Erik aptly puts it. The Mojo Blues Band and the Blues - A Thirty-Year Love Affair!

Finally
author: Alan McArdle
I was doing a search on piano boogie woogie music and found the song Bottle Rocket. Ever since then I have been trying to find the cd. But the places that sold it were overseas. Then I found CDBaby!! I really love this cd. Since it arrived in the mail I have listened to it 20 times. CD Baby, thanks for the excellent service and Frank's Trio thank you for the excellent music.

Papa ain't Salty
author: Bernhard Schulte
I have never before heard this track performed so excellent! The very tight blues and boogie driven Trio with Daniel Gugolz (Mojo Blues Band) and ex Mojo drummer Peter Müller and piano man Franky Muschalle are a 5 star combo with Rusty Zinn on guitar. I can listen to this album again and again it's just makes you wanna hear more. Hey Lawdy Mama, Papa ain't Salty and 'Fessor T's delight are my favorite tracks but the other 12 are excellent as well. Bravo Styx to put together this Combo, do it again!
