Album Notes

This album is dear to me on a spiritual level because out of tragedy this artwork was birthed. I had a background playing clarinet for 7 years in the concert and marching band and spent time in the underground hip hop and then dance music scene in college. All those years I knew that I loved music, but never had the gift to create or compose original work of my own. It was in the summer of 2006 when my ex-fiance broke the engagement off with me, that I had overwhelming sorrow that I had never experienced before. Suddenly the most tragic moment of my life became the most transcendent season ... I began to compose music in the studio that I invested in. The first song I ever completed was "Endurance" and friends have told me that they feel the sincerity in that piece. It's been four years and it's been quite a journey. My long time friend and painter Paul Henderson felt inspired by the music, and began to work side-by-side with me creating the album artwork. Adam French mastered the entire album in the professional studio in Bethel, CA. Most of the album's ideas were inspired during my time living in San Francisco and parts of San Diego, California. The last song "Slaves to Kings" shows where I'm going artistically in terms of focusing on song writing and singing. I moved to New York about 1 year ago and am now proud to present our debut album "Slaves to Kings".

I have known ZR a long time and it has been such a joy watching him craft this album. His music has always brought peace to my soul and energy to my spirit. I love every track on this album! It is just the beginning of a career in supernatural creativity!!! Enjoy the sounds of the city, the sounds of the heart on ZR's debut album ;)
