Album Notes

"Patti Zlaket is one of those special performers who possess the uncanny ability to have you laughing one minute with one of her rambling, bluesy rants about "love gone wrong" and crying the next minute with one of her heartfelt word paintings about humanity. When one woman + one piano = two standing ovations, it's evident that this gifted singer/songwriter/pianist is a modern day troubadour that deserves your attention... I know she's got mine." ---Joan Rubin, KKSM Radio San Diego

" It's special enough to be able to deliver a great vocal performance
in the studio. To be able to deliver the same in a live environment is
a rare gift. Patti Zlaket sings it just the way I like it. Impeccable,
exquisite phrasing, and intelligent lyrics that hit you where you
live." ---James Studer, Composer/Producer

"...her music is reminiscent of James Taylor, Carole King, or Joni Mitchell. But in her vocal style as well as her writing, there are also traces of the country, blues and jazz she grew up hearing and continues to appreciate. All these influences add up to a style that is at once accessible and original." ---Janice Jarrett, Tucson Weekly

"You can sit and listen to Patti sing for 10 minutes and know her heart. Every relationship, every personal triumph, every second of her struggle can be found in the tone of her voice. It's not the lyrics... she could sing the phone book and you would still feel the same heat. It's not a talent you're born with. It's a talent you earn." ---Grant Langston, Singer/Songwriter

"Judging from her material, Patti Zlaket is a woman who lives for love. The singer-songwriter's ballads trace the heart's trajectory as it finds love, loses it and then leaves it. She keeps the instrumentation fairly pared down, a strategy that lets her voice expand to its fullest capacity and capture her audience. Strains of her songs hit those lofty octaves, sharing dreamy sentiments, but give Patti a piano and, truly, she doesn't need anything else." --- Dylan Roberts (www.digitalcity.com)

"Patti Zlaket's beautiful lyrics and the soulful timber of her voice makes her a singer to be reckoned with. Her assured performance coupled with her contagious sense of humor are hugely engaging when experiencing her music live. She effortlessly blends melody with personal narratives..." --- Masako Ichino, NBC Universal

Soulful rhythms and grace

A beautiful piece of work. Great compositions backed well by a talent group of musicians. Patti's voice is a blend of one part funk, one part soul, washed down with rich harmonies. Get this CD!! It only gets better with time.
