"(Abigail Nessen has)…not only a tremendous musical talent, but also a raw honesty and sincere righteousness."
- George Hunka, New York Times
“(Abigail Nessen Bengson and Shaun McClain Bengson) are friendly, fresh-faced and downright enchanting... audiences are bound to sit up and take notice.”
Kathryn Flagg, Addison Independent
The Zombie Nationalists combine soulful vocal harmonies, disturbingly catchy melodies, chugging guitar and ukulele, and heavy electronic beats. The results have torn down houses across the great U.S. of A. Playing with styles ranging from folk to rock, balkan gypsy to classic soul, the Zombie Nationalists are currently touring the nation, building up a following and preparing for their first international tour.
The husband/wife duo of Shaun McClain Bengson and Abigail Nessen Bengson (Shaun & Abigail Zombie) form the core of the Zombie Nationalists. As the Zombies tour around, various regional members join in the fun. Steff Zee Zombie, the third founding member and vocalist of the Zombie Nationalists (singer on Bulldozer Head & Drop Outs), leads the charge in NYC, alongside Ray Ray Zombie. In the midwest, the Fort Zombies (Douglas Sod Zombie, Bjart Zombjie, and Eric McZombie) team up. Zombie Nationalists West Coast (Simon Zombie, Benji Zombie, and David Zombie, authors and performers of Rots of Rove) holds down the Western Seaboard with artwork, tunes, and rotting support. Special other members of the Zombie support team include Alex Velociraptor Clark & Scott Alexander.
Shaun & Abigail Zombie perform in a variety of mediums. They are Off-Broadway performers whose original musicals (The Magic Show: The Story of the Barefoot Angels & Ain't That Good News) demonstrate the possibility and urgent need for social change and have appeared in theaters across the country. They are rock musicians who perform electronic-infused music in rock venues in NYC, the North East and the Midwest. They are folk musicians, who perform in festivals and community venues across the country. And they are activists and teachers, who have taught students in NYC's public schools, worked with gang children in El Salvadore, and worked with immigrants in Massachusetts.
Album lovingly recorded, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Alex Clark, Brooklyn, NY. THANK YOU ALEX.
All songs written and performed by Shaun & Abigail Bengson. Vocals by Steff Zuroff on Bulldozer Head and Drop Outs.
