Album Notes

Over the course of 3 months in the summer of 2003, Greg Rubens isolated himself from the outside world in his 495 square foot living space in Chicago and got the songs expressed that had been in his head for his whole life. This album is the 1/3 of that collection. 90% of what you hear is bass guitar, but the "outer space" versions utilize synthesizers.

Originally, the songs were looped and a drum machine was used, but after a 6 year hiatus, it was time to get them professionally recorded and get some real drummers. The crisp, funky drumming of Chris Morrow is featured on Chivalry, Concrete Company, and Beaut Cuckoo. The hard rocking Justin Lack drums on both versions of Ow...My Back Hurts, Loink, Picture Gulls, Severe Thunderstorm and/or Tornado Warning, and Concrete Company.

Elliot Bancel of Mason Street Studios recorded Chivalry, Concrete Company, Beaut Cuckoo, I'll Fill Out the Form, Severe Thunderstorm and/or Tornado Warning.

Mike Ritrosi of Indy Sounds recorded both versions of Loink, Picture Gulls, and Ow...My Back hurts.

It took about 44 hours to make the whole album.
