I'd never heard them or even of them before i put on my car radio midday a few weeks ago and there they were, live in the studio at 88.5 FM. They were funny, articulate and very very good. They played 3 or 4 songs and each was better than the last, until i finally decided i had to have a permanent recording of their stuff...it's THAT good! Ok, so the band name seems a little weird, but what do you think people thought of Creedence Clearwater Revival the first time they heard that name?? And they did pretty well from what i recall... My point here is (what the hell was i talking about?? - - oh yeah Johnny Zoom and The Cheerleader Squad) you can't judge a book by it's cover. I realize that's cliche, but sometimes cliche's are called for. Anyway, i think these guys are the genuine article, and i hope they stay together long enough so that us listeners get a chance to hear alot more from them!

It’s bad enough Johnny Zoom makes music this good, but does he have to make it sound so effortless? Like Zen masters of the big beat, Zoom and Co. roar through seven numbers about sex, rock ’n’ roll and nicotine. Come to think of it, the many cancer-stick references are a little disturbing.
