Album Notes

Northeastern Pennsylvania's Zydecoal is a quick trip to the bayou for frost bitten northerners. The long running Cajun/Zydeco band "Plays with wreckless abandon, teeming with energy and youthful vitality" says Dirty Linen Magazine in a nationaly published February 2004 feature article.

Their new third CD, "Where you got them shoes" has that energy and more. New original tunes are the centerpiece. After licencing the originals from their 2002 "Seedy" CD to MTV'S "Road Rules" Zydecoal became more than a specialty cover band. Principal songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bill Davis has contributed the Cajun sounding "Au Revior Lafayette" to kick of the CD. Bill colaborated with accordionist Dave Gonzalo for the swamp pop ballad "Back Door Open" and with new guitarist Karl Kaminski for the traditional zydeco influenced, "Bug Up"

Zydecoal is not forgetting their roots either. Songs like "I.R.S" and "O Wow" are zydeco favorites, there is the piano driven "New York to bayou" and jam band standard, "Women are smarter"

Always progressive, Zydecoal includes rocking crossover tunes like "Our last night" and "Take me away". The latin flavored "Keep your monkey away from my door" proves that roots rock, latin and zydeco can all work smoothly together. On "Where you got them shoes" a work in progress has become a progressive work.
