Swinging songwriting with a disco beat, played by a rock and roll band. Clever lyrics and lots of energy make DANGER: LIVE WIRE. hard not to LOVE.

notes

Celia Shacklett's first showbiz experience was as a small child in a small town, holding up audience prompt signs and an occasional oleo appearance in the Plains Theatre Guild's annual melodrama. The daughter of on of Western Kansas' best loved actors, Quinton "Shack" Shacklett, Celia was trained in instrumental music, primarily violin, tuba, and bassoon. Celia became a singer/songwriter upon the aquisition of her Washburn D-10 guitar. After completing a degree in English at the University of Kansas, Celia spent a couple of years playing every Tuesday night in Lawrence Kansas at the Brown Bear Brewery, where her fans encouragement and support helped to produce Celia's first full length album of original songs, "LOVE-O-RAMA". In 2001, Celia moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and started playing in a rock band and writing rock/disco songs. Her latest full length album, "DANGER: LIVE WIRE!" is co-produced by Celia and her brother, Derek "shack" Shacklett, a singer/songwriter from Fayettville, Arkansas. "DANGER: LIVE WIRE!" was recorded live in the studio with only a few overdubs. The sound is energetic and fun, and the motive is still a l o v e - o - r a m a . Celia lives in the city of St. Louis, where she enjoys many interesting activities and friendly people. She plans to continue to make friends through music forever.

  • everyone always asks, "where can i buy this?"

Celia's beautiful, clear voice and unique sense of humor shine through in this funky and insightful album. "Sweet Potato" is catchy with shameless innuendo, but my favorite song is "Unrequited," which is steady and bittersweet. Celia is a talented musician and an amazing person. If you aren't fortunate enough to meet her, listen to this album and you will feel like you have.

  • sweet, sweet sounds
    author: gregD

How can a song about feeling bad make you feel so good? How can a song about the lowly sweet potato make your soul soar? Celia is magic, and this disc provides something fans of hers from way back have wanted for a long time--some shack that you can shake to. Shake it, bake it, whatever. Just get it. And make sure your connection is tight....

  • Celia what can I say funky punky and disco all at once.

Celia what can I say funky punky and disco all at once. I am in love with Celia's sound and her heart felt lyrics along with the silly ones. Being a Porcupine fan myself I can dig the armadillo love, but sweet potatoes are where it's at! Also Celia come back to Indiana sometime!
