Chyp Davis is an accomplished singer, songwriter, producer, musician, composer and performer whose love for music has inspired and developed him into the artist he is today. He has traveled the world playing drums for and working with world-renowned artists. Chyp's singing career started while doing background vocals as a drummer. It wasn't until he ventured out as a solo artist that his sultry voice had him opening for Cameo, Kool and the Gang, and most recently The Original Parliament. His debut CD, "In My Dreams " was produced in the U.S. and in Canada. It is a musical mash of " OL School with Neo Soul" and "Hip Hop with Funky Rhythms and Sensuous tones".... commonly referred to as Candle Light and Wine music. One of the original tunes, "Have You Ever", was recorded in the eighties which features the sultry soulful background vocals of the Late, Great Eva Marie Cassidy Who was a wonderful spirit and will always be loved and missed. Also featured is the Rap-A-Try of DeSean Tate , a.k.a DiZi. Chyp is a recipient of the Gold Award for the International Poetry Contest sponsored by www.poetry.com in 2005. Also in 2005 the Black American Blues Historical Society of Canada awarded him the honor and title of "Master Drummer" in the Fraternal Order of Celestial Musicians 5th Annual Black American Music Awards. Chyp has many drumming credits which include The Legendary Lead Singers of the Temptations featuring Glenn Leonard, Barrington"Bo"Henderson, and Ray Davis. He also played drums with Harold Melvin's Blue Notes, Eddie Holman, The Delphonics, Sarah Dash, The Intruders, and most recently The Original Parliament

    Very smooth refreshing sound. Reminiscent of old school music with a modern flava. If you have a chance see Chyp Davis and his band perform live--you'll appreciate the talent and love they have for music/performing.

    As a Blues and Jazz disc jockey, I say this CD proves Mr. Davis to be a superlative song writer. His vocal style is too mature for the neo-soul audience this disc targets, but no one can dismiss his obvious skill, experience and command of the genre. Chyp can use his vocal mastery to croon, caress or to make "come hither" and the late night longing in his style is more suited for a sophisticated, knowledgeable ear. Eventually, Mr. Davis will release that kind of material and when he is ready to change musical directions, the more appropriate place for him would be the Southern Soul/Blues market ala Clarence Carter or Bobby Blue Bland. But until then, this 2006 "neo-old school" release will guarantee him a place in the dreams of those who are forever young and soulful.

    The romance is back. the mellotic melody"s and soothing rhythem's will make you play your favorite tune"s over and over again. I personaly am very proud of this featured artist due to the fact that we have gone from kindergarden to high school" together. We have also had a sucessful local band in the early 70s. (2)of our femal vocalist went on to be featured with well known artist and our lead guitarist has #2 GRAMMY"S for record producing. Our key-boardist attened music-college with lake and palmer. before they were introduced to emerson, of emerson,lake and palmer. EXSPERIENCE = QUALITY !!!
