This is the second cd release for The Coming Grass. Their first, self-titled debut was put out in 1999 and is currently getting airplay on a variety of Americana, AAA format, and public radio stations throughout the U.S. and Europe.
"Transient" was recorded with former Uncle Tupelo/Wilco member Ken Coomer on drums and bass player Roger Gupton from the North Carolina outfit, The Backsliders. Most of the original basic tracks were kept intact which lends to a strong band energy and swinging feel.
Performing Songwriter Magazine summed it all up for us by saying, " The Coming Grass plays alt-country/roots rock the way The Replacements played rock and roll-with guts, whiskey, and no apologies. But The Coming Grass have better harmonies."

I got this new cd for Christmas-wonderful! I fully expected this to be on Rounder or Sugar Hill Records and was stunned to find this was an indie release. Nice work by you and your producer!
