notes
Memorable songs and subtle instrumental interplay. Honky-tonk hooks, country-ish crooning, rocking rhythms, and bluesy badassness can all be found here, working together to form an undeniably American sound. There's even a touch of soul to give songs like "Get Me Out of This" that extra sizzle!

The Dan Walker Band was created in the summer of 2005 with the collective efforts of bassist, Luke Crawley, and drummer Roy Wallace. With over a decade of experience working together on different musical projects, the trio toured across the country with emphasis in the Rocky Mts. As they gained a tighter grip on their progressively acoustic blues/rock jam, the DWB was inspired to take some of what they were performing night after and night and put it to CD.
'Airplane' was recorded at Electric Peak Studio in Gardiner, MT with well known co-producer and engineer, Fred Baker, who also co-mixed and mastered the CD. On January 1st of 2006 at the base of one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Yellowstone National Park, the setting was perfect for the offical start of this uplifting and inspired work.
Most of the instrumentation was recorded on vintage gear and equipment creating this classic warm tone that only 'really expensive' vintage equipment can 'really' do. It was a week long marathon of Hammond B3 organs Lesleing around, Vox AC30 amplifiers making the room spin and an ever motivated band kicking out some of the tightest grooves to date!
All vocals were recorded at River City Studios, Grand Rapids MI with long-time collaborator, Roy Wallace. After a year and a half from the start, 'Airplane' was released in August of 2007.
