DEB FERRARA
Raised on music, Deb Ferrara entered the studio before she could crawl and walked out a child star at the age of 5. The success of her first single, "Christmas Time (Is Near)," led to television and radio appearances, and news items in major industry magazines. This early start in the business prefaced a continuous involvement in music. By the age of 18, Deb was in the studio with her own band, recording and co-producing a five-song EP of her original pop/rock material. The self-released record, "Go Away," attracted interest from Chrysalis Records, and garnered two songwriting awards from Billboard.
A prolific writer, Deb has a substantial catalog of material and a growing list of artists who have licensed her songs for their albums. She's penned hit songs for up-and-coming Canadian artist, Vicky Taytro, and has written and licensed music for video and educational projects.
Ferrara's most current project is her brand new album, "Anything But Ordinary" - 12 undeniably strong rock songs produced by LA's Dan Marfisi and mixed by Carter Humphrey (Rod Stewart). Tracks from promotional copies of the CD, slated for release August 10, 2004, are already getting spins on college radio.

Can't stop listenting to it.
author: DH of The John Ginty BandOne of the top 3 CD's I've bought in the last 3 years. Seriously well thought out songs with great harmonies and catchy hooks - the kind you wake up singing in the morning and that just pop into your mind anytime and anywhere.

author: ken lawrenceYou know the line in the song jersey girl, "cause down the shore everything's all right, you and your baby on a saturday night," well deb ferrara is who this blind boy from jersey would sing that about. do i find her songs stupidly beautiful? Yeah! would i like loving her? yeah yeah yeah! well getting the idea yet? this is what pop is not that crap that american idol stuffs down americas faces. catchy, hooky, and rockin' so put this one in your boombox or in your boombox car or ipod and well get rockin'.
Great vocals !
author: Laura T Lynch of Kweevak.comFerrara's music is a spirited blend of pop and rock with shades of dance, adult contemporary, country and alternative. Deb is a soulful, versatile vocalist who composes energized arrangements despite lyrics about disappointing relationships. Samantha Newark on backing vocals complements Deb's strong, expressive leads. The multi-talented Dan Marfisi handles guitar, bass, keys and drums on Anything But Ordinary. The tracks are well produced and the trio creates rich, full-bodied songs. The CD opens with 'Underneath Your Star', which features a catchy beat and guitar rifts combined with stellar diverse vocal blends. 'Stupidly Beautiful' is a prime example of Deb and Samantha's vocals unifying and building on the instrumental energy provided by Dan. 'I Don't Like It' starts off with an edgy lead and moves into an up-tempo grove and appealing hook line. Subtle changes in musical direction give the track depth and drama. Anything But Ordinary is an apt title for Deb Ferrara's latest CD as she is an exceptional vocalist and composer!

This is a remarkably engaging CD
author: Fein, Pearson & Emond, P.C.We're a law firm which represents performing artists. We found the songs unusually engaging. They "go somewhere", both musically and lyrically, which gives the entire CD that rare thing called Cohesion. That's the difference between art and a collection of songs. Right now, it's one of the 5 to 10 best independently produced CD's in the United States. And no, we don't represent her. We've never met her.
