notes
Music mirrors life. It reflects who we are, who we want to be and the road in between. And good music goes even further, forcing you to experience life in a moment. Deleveled's music does just that. Life -- the good and the bad -- is captured in the words and melodies of each song. You know the pain of The Worst Night. You feel the cold of Winter. And you have dreams of Hollywood.
From the upbeat, relatable tale of The Oh My Story to the pound-your-fist-in-the-air sound of Drowning in You, Deleveled offers up an array of song experiences. The mainstream rock and roll style of Deleveled is like none other, and the band's versatility is evident in listening to its roster of songs. From throaty and powerful to velvety smooth vocals, from classic rock musicianship reminiscent of days gone by in Bound To Bind to the unlike-anything-else sound of The Freedom -- Deleveled's got it all. Each song is a complete thought, from beginning to end, telling a story. And each story is unique and elicits a different emotion.
Deleveled's latest studio effort, a recording crafted in the band's home studio and produced by guitarist Jeff Pitts, feels like a collection of such stories. There are songs of lust, anger, misfortune, mourning, pain and triumph. The stories told within are real and tangible and of situations with which we are all familiar. Keep Them Closer is truly a musical journey that parallels life and all its uncertainty.
Keep Them Closer marks the follow-up to the band's debut disc Later Than Usual, which the band put forth in April 2003. Later Than Usual received the accolade of being named Best Local CD in 2003 by voters in Columbia's Free Times' Best of Columbia. While Later Than Usual was the product of a band still in the infant stages, having only been together a year, it showcased the talent of its creators and left fans waiting for more. Keep Them Closer shows signs of maturity and a band that has honed its skills lyrically, musically and creatively.
Band members Ryan Hudson (vocals), Jeff Pitts (guitar), Matthew Biddle (bass) and Tre Graham (drums) are excited about the chance to get on the road and share the new songs with the world. Fans who have already been treated to live performances of the new tracks will now be able to bring the intensity of their favorite songs home.
Deleveled recently received the honor of being named Best Local Rock Band in the Free Times' Best of Columbia 2005, and the band has had the pleasure of playing with national acts Crossfade and L.A. Guns. Though Deleveled took a break from the stage -- with the exception of a handful of shows -- while creating the new CD, they are looking forward to making the rounds of their favorite venues once again and christening some new ones. 2006 is sure to be an exciting and busy year for the band as they tour in support of Keep Them Closer.

THE BEST LOCAL BAND IN SOUTH CAROLINA!!!
author: SusanDeleveled is by far the best local band in South Carolina of any genre. The cd starts out great and only gets better with each song. The vocals are awesome and Jeff is awesome on the guitar. This cd will soon be selling out in stores across America.
I've reviewed each song, Winter and Suffered are both beautiful!
author: LouiseIve done each track for you: Nevermore - Beautiful voice at the start especially, and I love the bass line (I’m sorry I’m not very good with technical terms!) The Oh My Story - I have always liked this song. Sounds just as good as it always has. Winter - THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING THIS SONG!!! I LOVE IT!!! It’s beautiful. The texture of the opening chords sends shivers down my spine; it’s such a stunning song. I like the riff and the fact you can hear the movement on the frets; it makes it seem more real! All in all, magical!! Bound To Bind -I like the harmony in the chorus, and the bass and drum passages. The guitar and bass harmonies are beautiful actually, and the guitar at the end is gorgeous. Righteous Hands - I love the intro to this song, with the sudden crescendos! In fact, the best thing about this song is the contrasting passages; the building up of big instrumental bits, like tension I suppose, then just dropping away suddenly. Very powerful. 6) Hollywood - Ryan has such a beautiful voice!! And the bass is wonderful as well! And the drums. And that is a stunning instrumental, Jeff. In fact, I think I love this song! 7)Suffered -Wow. Gorgeous song, I love this so much. So beautiful. It’s amazing. And it rather seems to sum up my relationship with my godfather (except the other way round). 8) The Freedom - This grows on you I think. I’m intrigued as to how you got the vibrato on the guitar quite like that! I like the drums in this actually, in the chorus especially. And the guitar at the end is nice, like a stand-out bit of clarity (my amazing eloquence with words!) 9)Drowning In You - Great song! I like the guitar in this. The contrast is great between the quiet bits with just Ryan and Jeff and then Matt and Lee coming in. 10) The Worst Night - Wow. So simple, but quite haunting I think. Ooh, getting shivers actually. I’m liking this a lot! The harmony of the guitar when it repeats those three notes…lovely! And when it builds up, with the faster chords going - gorgeous. In conclusion, well done guys, wonderful album. The best tracks are, I reckon, Hollywood, Suffered, Winter and The Worst Night. But especially Winter. And Suffered. But also Winter. I can’t decide which my favourite is!! They’re both gorgeous. BUY THIS ALBUM EVERYONE!!! It’s amazing! Thank you for letting me be a part of this as well guys! Congratulations!
Deleveled Shows Why It's 'Best Local Band'
author: taken from Otis Taylor - The State newspaperDeleveled covers more ground in 38 minutes than most bands do in two full-length albums. On its latest CD, Keep Them Closer, the band has songs about sex, love, fun, heartbreak and bad nights. From almost hard-core guitar scrapes to radio-friendly modern rock to introspection that would make Scott Stapp rethink his coolness, Deleveled has the ability to shift gears faster than a lawn-mower jockey.
The best songs from the best band!
author: ShanaThis CD brings out the BEST of DELEVELED. After recieving this CD from their CD release party on March 24th, I have not taken it out of my CD player since. I have learned all the songs by heart. Each song has a different meaning, and a different emotion. I can really relate to these emotions by connecting them to my everyday life. Each song brings out a different situation in real life that people experience everyday. They have really chosen a variety of songs on this CD and they have done an excellent job of creating an unforgetable album. I just can't wait to see what they come up with on their next CD. Love you guys!
