notes
This CD was the winner of The Independent Music Award for Live performance in 2006. Five of the most requested cover tunes and five original tunes with an Urban Folk and Jazz twist make up this sixthe CD from Mother Cyclone Records.
One of the hardest things to translate from stage to recording is heart and fun- there is always a point where the journey to perfection becomes just too pristine. This paradox keeps me making CDs independently, I want it all. I want a mix too. A CD's job, when done well, should make the time pass without you even noticing. I like CDs that are fun to drive to and that don't sound like the same songs over and over. So this effort was hand picked from some live shows and a couple of live sessions, I am proudest of it's personality and grateful to the audience members who pretty much, requested it from me.
If you'd care to write your own review, that helps everyone. If you'd like to comment to me or the band, you can send a note right here from CD baby.
Thanks

great voice, great song selection, great band.
author: AMIRI was first introduced to the sounds of Ms K.J. Denhert through a BOSE PA advertisement. I immediately dug the soulfulness of her voice, guitar work, and also the funkness of the band. Great artist.
As close to being there as you can be
author: IrisAfter a good friend, knowing my love for jazz, had sent me a link of the music, I had to see it live. I drove 4 hours from Vermont and fell in love with the music of Ms. Denhert and her band. The latest CD "Another year gone by" is a true and as real as it gets, you are there. It's raw, clean and falls into jazz funk with Little Mary, Jelly Bean and then to a flawless interpretation of Summertime. She reaches to everyone on this CD. When she's not singing her guitar is. If you can't make the drive, buy this CD. I have ...3 times , everyone i share it with steals it from me. Thank you Ms. Denhert
Great Artist-Great Album !!!
author: Dan MixterI got turned onto KJ Denhert on Sirius Radio, and loved her from the second bar of the first tune. She has a great voice, great band, and is a really good player herself. This is the 3rd of her albums I've bought, and it is every bit as good as the first two. Live performance at its best...highly recommended.
