notes
Dreamchild combines the ethereal yet powerful vocals of Cheryl Wanner with the exploratory guitars of Frank Gerace to create dark, moving music that inspires the imagination.
Gates To The Sea is their first CD. Some of the great reviews so far include OUTBURN magazine: "Dreamchild is actually quite psychedelic, occasionally exotic and darkly experimental.
Cheryl Wanner's vocals are the central aspect of the music, often powerful and raw but they also emerge gentle and light. Her voice is complemented by the eerie drones and jangling harmonies of Frank Gerace's guitars.
'Gates' proves considerable creativity on the part of Dreamchild.
I don't even know who I would compare them to for reference but that should be considered a positive comment."
SPIRIT OF CHANGE magazine said, "Cheryl Wanner and Frank Gerace create a musical tapestry of fluid images...their poetic mediums are voice, bass, wire-strung harp, guitar and finely tuned genius.
In yin/yang fashion, lilting rifts of musical sweet dreams may be followed by the clamour of garish nightmares.
This CD may not be suitable for the squeamish because at times the conjured visions and emotions are as chilling as the waters below an iceberg."
NORTHEAST PERFORMER says, "At times gothic and hauntingDreamchild utilizes the arcane vocals of Cheryl Wanner and the textural adventurous multi-instrumental work of Frank Gerace to create stunningly visual music; well conceived and brilliantly executed.
Gates is so well constructed and alluring that the music commands with ease the space it occupies, hypnotically spinning a ghostly ambience that bleeds and breathes."
GUITAR PLAYER notes, "David Torn sitting in with Dead Can Dance? Dreamchild, a collaboration between guityarist Frank Gerace and harpist, bassist, vocalist Cheryl Wanner give a hint of what such a pairing might sound like.
On Sea Horses, Gerace spins ornate Lexicon JamMan loops arounds Wanner's trancey, repetitive vocals, his strat sounding like a whinnying stallion 50 fathoms under."
And THE NOISE goes on to say, "Wanner's voice and words have never been on better form than on this disc...Dreamchild embraces sonic textures and brings them to the forefront in a way that sounds regal, yet naive, truly enthralling."

Dark, riveting, very interesting
author: J.t. O'connorA bit darker than I'm used to, but a fascinating CD. Interesting vocals, and exceptional guitar work.

Guitars shimmer seahorses, seahorses echo voices; a crack of glaciers and melting ice, ancient glassy dark waves spill over the wreckage of ships and the bones of their crews, an eye peers through a window....a sweet voice besets my dreams...thunder does not wake me.
