notes

This is Craig Dreyer's first solo CD.

Having performed with a wide spectrum of artists as a saxophone sideman - (including Greg Allman, Warren Haynes, Joan Osborne, David Johansen, Jimmy Vivino, Little Milton, Jerry Dugger and Ron Sunshine and Full Swing), Craig combines a variety of styles into one package.

Out of ten tunes, nine are originals, with a sense of humour leading Blues Review magazine to call the CD "Originals on wry."

A killer disc with a voice resonant of the smoky bars and clubs where Craig performs over 250 times a year(in 1999 304 times to be precise), vocally he has been compared to Tom Waits and Dr.John.

His sax playing crosses between the realms of King Curtis and Jr. Walker to Maceo Parker and Grover Washington Jr.

Featured as guests on this record are Adam Hirsh (from former MCA band The Hatters) and Jono Manson.

  • simple, funky, fun jazz

A definite niche filler. Never over done, the CD is straighforward, funny and simple. Typical jazz and blues topics, but with nice twists to keep them fresh. Some great sax solos as well.

Great CD of funky soul. Like old Dr. John with a little more funk.
