Great!
author: AlfredoA great collection of latin american pieces, very well executed, and with a nice variety. The only problem is the audio is very neutral: a quality which hinders the vibrance of the guitar from standing out, and is a problem not resolvable by merely altering the treble. I would have to blame the mics: the Neumann U87's: "The frequency response of the cardioid and figure-8 directional characteristics are very flat." Using a larger transistor mic such as the TM149 Tube would fix this. A quick look in Steinberg Wavelab reveals that the data is not lost, and thus running it through a parametric equalizer fixes this problem. As for the music: Brilliantly played, and very well picked. The transition between extremely lively to more "dull" pieces was discreet and made the whole CD seem very fluid. Overall a great work! Unless you have a $10,000 sound system, you're not going to pay attention to the flatness so its not really much of a problem. It's just the audiophiles that have to point these things out. 5 stars from me.
