notes

Dylan Connor was born on June 12th, 1975 and will someday die.

In 1982, Dylan's parents bought him a plastic Dukes of Hazzard guitar at the local toy store.

In 2004, renowned rock producer Bryce Goggin (Lemonheads, Ramones, Pavement, Spacehog, Phish) invited Dylan to Trout Studios in Brooklyn after hearing some demos of his music.

The result is Dylan's debut solo record called "Plug In."

On the record, Dylan resembles artists like Neil Young, Elliott Smith, Morrissey and Guided by Voices.

In the fall of 2004, Dylan dug into the east coast touring circuit, supporting acts like Stephen Kellogg (Universal) and Mike Viola (Sony).

Live recordings of Dylan's shows are currently receiving hundreds of hits on websites such as alphaquam.com.

He sold 1000 units of "Plug In" before it was available online or in stores.

In late 2004, Dylan toured abroad in Ireland and Mexico.

The single "Love's an infection" is in steady rotation on CT's biggest rock station 99.1 FM WPLR.

  • Phenomenal talent; humor and intelligence
    author: J. B. Yoder

Plug In is a terrific album. Dylan Connor has the voice of an angel and a devilishly wry sense of humor, so these intelligent, engaging songs are a delight. "So Long" is simple and particularly haunting; "Love's an Infection" is another favorite. Connor's artistry keeps on evolving; he's making great use of his gifts, and this album is sheer pleasure.

dylan connor has once again given us a beautifully poetic soundscape. blessed by his muses, he has created pictures of reflectivenes and wonder through his lyrics, crisp guitar work, and gorgeous vocals. on a side note, i highly recommend listening to this album on a long coastal drive- it has that kind of feel.

  • Dylan's work continues to grow and he impresses on PLUG IN
    author: Zachariah

This record begins with the powerful Back in the Water, which really re-establishes Dylan's rebirth as a solo artist and sets the tone for the overall feel of this record. At times a break-up masterpiece and at times a brilliant glimmer of hope for a brighter future, songs like Love's an Infection, So Long and Hide in the Day are all beautiful, haunting and powerfully resonant. Check out Just Begun, the best Beatles song the Beatles never wrote. Connor has officially arrived.
