notes
Dynamite Club was formed in the year 2001 by retard-core/bebop guitarist Kentaro Saito, with young and furious NYC avant-garde drummer Mike Pride (of Mr. Bungle side project MP3, William Parker, Aardvarks and Antenna Terra). DC's dizzying music comes off as a blend of punk, math rock, musical theatre & avant-rock - think Boredoms, Naked City, Mr. Bungle, Ornette Coleman & Frank Zappa with splashes of Pasolini & Jodorowsky. One downtown journalist, pressed to describe their sound as best he could, scribed "First turn on every major appliance in your home (blenders, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers etc). Pop in your favorite Bruce Lee movie and turn the volume on the television all the way up."
The band has employed a Spinal Tap-like succession of bass players - indeed, finding a bassist who can play intense and complicated music (entertaining all the while) is no easy task. Currently working with bassist #5, Dynamite Club have also recently employed the alto sax talents of Dr. Aaron Ali Shaikh.
Dynamite Club's unforgettable live performances, blending intricate, devastating music with insane kung fu fighting and stage antics, have become a fixture of the new NYC rock-n-roll scene. They can frequently be seen blowing audiences' expectations away at revered clubs like The Knitting Factory, CBGB's, and Meow Mix, and were also the scene-mashing crowd favorite at this years Block Island Music Festival in Rhode Island.
"THE LEGEND OF TIGER MASK," their debut CD on Big Sleep Records, captures Dynamite Club at their most furious, and doesn't sound quite like anything you've heard committed to tape recently. Recorded during the winter of 2001/2002 and featuring incredibly inventive production & dense arrangements (intricate horn lines, crazy layered vocals, insane noise, bizarre solos and more), this is a singular entertainment experience not to be missed. A single track can lull you with pure pop bliss then kick your ass somewhere into an intoxicating experimental jazz/punk orbit.

MUST HAVE!!! Finially an album with REAL energy!
author: Timothy EllisThis CD is one of the most bizzare and entertaining CDs ever! Fans of Japan's BOREDOMS and other genre blending avant-core bands will love this. Songs range from sublime melodies to full on aural assault! One song (New York Kung-Fu Society) even captures the band stopping mid-way through to have an honest-to-goodness brawl in the studio, and it sounds like the mics took a real punishment!!! Anyone that has been waiting for a new rock band to fill the void left by the older Boredoms' records, this is the answere to your prayers! An album with so much raw energy and wit that you will love and discover more within it every time you listen to it. If you love Frank Zappa, The Boredoms, John Zorn, Mr. Bungle or just about anything with some real spirit THIS IS THE ALBUM FOR YOU! Beat the crowd & get it now before all your friends get it and then you have to be the lame-o to buy at THEIR recommendation! A real MUST HAVE!

Dynamite Club "The Legend Of Tiger Mask" : CD review 40 minutes 15 songs Avant- punk jazz, disco inferno, sleazy flamenco, toe sniffing, ball licking, finger sticking good! The CD starts off with track one Cutt Ball: a really somber and dark experimental song ending in a sort of punk, metal, rock EXPLOSION, it then continues with Nicole Kidman Shades: this song is heard best with an extremely dry martini with two pickles, a Cuban cigar, and a smut queen giving you an astonishing toe sucking. Hell: is a great song with lots of screaming and Mike Pride showing off with a bad ass 1 minute drum solo. Chillin: speaks for itself, Mon-sun they just wanna be chillin. Eat Shit: insane mayhem with a lovely acoustic piece sang by Kentaro Saito's oh soo sweet voice. Suck a nice love song: was definitely written for a real special someone. Dead Meat: disco funk about the consumption of nasty dead meat, get ready to put on your dancing shoes. Curry on fire: flamenco, punk rock extravaganza with a bad case of anxiety. Pissed off Pussies: is a splendidly smooth jazz song. New York Kung Fu Society: if you listen to it backwards I guarantee you will know how to do a real hand to the neck chop that'll knock down even the toughest guy around Vin Diesel. Its amazing What Drink Can Do...: this song will leave you singing DC forever. Apology: the feel good song of the year, a well crafted song with a Perry and Kingsley sound, and a death metal ending. Working Attitude: Fucking Hardcore! Thank You: it makes people feel special when you thank them, soo THANK YOU DC! Mongolia: This is the secret song of the record, or so it sounds like it. There all songs are reviewed and you know why? Cause this record surely deserves to get dissected and molested. Honestly I believe this record has all the elements a good record would have, comedy, love songs, disco, creepy folks, hair raising screams, flamenco flavor, Noise lots and lots of noise and an overall tightness. I definitely recommend this record to all the mutants out there. BUY IT! @ http://www.dynamiteclub.com/

If you're feelin' wet and whacky-and even a little pissed off-this is the album for you. The first time I heard this band's demo, I was like "What the heck is this!" I remembered a lot of screaming at the tops of lungs and cacophony. Thankfully, these elements haven't been completely refined for their official debut release (in stores November 12). They professionally incorporate a few but necessary sounds from weird places: an answering machine message, kazoo noises, random chatter amongst bandmates (including vocalist/guitarist Kentaro Saito; avant garde drummer, Mike Pride, of Mr. Bungle side project The MP3; and their fifth bassist, Byrne Kley), mocked sounds from a fat, constipated Asian man-"reely, reely, reely, reely wundafo!" Then you get this mad yelling like you're in a cage with rabid apes during "Eat Shit (Everything They Taught Me in College)" which should make perfect sense with a title like that. These guys are so much fun and the music is so whacked out of its mind, while maintaining a great deal of quality musicianship that is extremely listenable, especially after you've acquired the taste after the fifth listening. Now I can't get enough! I was fired from this snobby 4-star restaurant job a couple days ago, and I'm telling you, no music did me justice like this album. Instant catharsis, fun, and Kung Fu lessons for this society. And they know how to chill too, with smooth jams like the jazzified "Dead Meat" vocalized by Kentaro, who whispers the lines with a sexy, subtle, Japanese accent. It's Prince from Japan. Then there's "Chillin'" which embodies the entire essence of the emotion that is "I Want to be Chillin'." "Pissed Off Pussies" is pure jazz. Do they make sense? Uh, no. But who cares. I'm ready for some unpredictability on an album. They're from New York City/Brooklyn. A crowd fave at this year's Block Island Music Festival in Rhode Island, according to their press release, and regulars at CBGBs and the Knitting Factory.
