notes
The MIND GAMES CD has been featured on NPR (National Public Radio), the NBC Evening News, and in the Chicago Sun-Times!
EARTH TONE ENTERPRISES has created a unique and revolutionary new music style called "Educational Hip Hop." We've taken the styles of music kids like best; Pop and Hip Hop, and hired some of the freshest new singers and rappers to perform songs that actually teach kids classroom subjects.
Now parents and educators have a tool to take advantage of children's natural ability to learn pop and rap lyrics!
Mind Games features songs designed to help children (ages 6 to 13) learn a variety of subjects, including: grammar (punctuation, verbs, and adjectives), mathematics (fractions and the metric system), and geography. Also included is a bonus track called "Open The Door." This inspirational song encourages kids to study hard and not be afraid or embarrassed to achieve academic excellence.
All of the selections on the "Mind Games" CD are fully produced, professional radio style tracks, not simple "kiddie songs." Your children will enjoy rapping and singing along to these songs in the car, at home, and at school. And as they learn the lyrics, your kids will also be learning valuable facts that will help them in school and beyond.
Parents might learn a few things too!
This one of a kind CD is a complete learning program. It is being used with outstanding results in classrooms, day care centers, after school programs, and homes around the USA and Canada.
Here's what some excited customers have to say about Mind Games:
D.C. (Chicago, IL)
Your CD...is an impressive, creative awesome piece of work. The beats & rappers were "authentic" but the content was educational and enunciated. And; yes I learned a few things about the continents and the internet. I enjoyed the Spanish guitar and melodious harmonies. No weak tunes.
B.K. (Chicago,IL)
Your CD is simply amazing!!! Not only is it musical perfection-we learned a lot from listening! Thank you so much for sending it to us... #8 Rock the Net (we just love the song and what it's about)
#10 Open the Door (... the topic of the song couldn't be more relevant... for me personally-it's my favorite song on a CD full of favorites)...So, as you can see, we are quite excited by your music.
Y. Whitlow (Lockport, Il)
I read the article in the Chicago Parent Magazine (March 2002, www.chicagoparent.com) in reference to your fantastic educational CD entitled "Mind Games." I will be ordering your workbook in the next two weeks. What you have done is truly an inspiration to all people who are concerned about the education of their children.
A.D. (Chicago, Il)
I received the CD today! (4 copies) I am listening to it for the 4th time
right now!!
Most of the time, words are hard to understand on records, cassettes, CDs.
However, the whole sound of your CD is crisp and clear. It's "withit" hip
hop genre of today's young people will make them want to dance (me too!) and
sing along. Unlike a lot of music today this sound is also delightful and
upbeat. I think I'm partial to "adjectives, continents, and fractions."
The best part is that the listener (some adults as well as kids)will
actually learn something. I hope you are working on a 2nd release.
R. K. (5th grade teacher, Chicago, Il)
Yes, I did receive the CD and I actually just finished adding it to my lesson plans. I am using it for my measurement lesson, which I just happen to be in the middle of. The music is so fun. I played it for the other fifth grade teacher and she is already asking me where she can get it. Thanks again for shipping the CD.

"It's superlative. It's just amazing! You have really achieved something here that transcends the medium. I want to add my voice to the people who have congratulated you already...This thing is on fire!"
Y. Boncy (kindergarten teacher, Chicago,Il.)
As teachers, it is often difficult to find new and creative ways to introduce or convey new concepts and skills. However, this cd gives us an extraordinary opportunity to "sneak in" necessary materials through catchy lyrics and toe-tapping beats. The kids love it and they are dancing, singing and learning all at the same time!

We listen to this CD every time we drive to school and back. My son even asks for it, when I forget to put it in.
Very Good
author: Tommie L. MartinThis is a great idea. My grandchildren love rap and I hate it but this is a rap for them. It has clean, educational lyrics. A great compromise. Thanks
Great for school and home.
author: Beth K.My daughter and her friends were singing the Homonym Game at a skating party. When they told me their teacher played it for them I knew I had to get one for my own students. I recieved my CD just a few weeks before the new school year starts and my 10 year old plays it daily! Good variety of musical styles. Great review of several skills.
Pretty darn cool
author: ChrisRead the article in Chicago Parent Magazine from about four years ago, and the CD sounded cool so I held on to the article until I had an occasion to give the CD to someone. Gave it to my 4-year-old niece for her birthday, and she loves it. I was glad to expose her to kid-friendly but hip music that her parents might not think to buy for her.
Jacob, my 7-year old son loves this CD. It is hard to find good rap for the you
author: VictoriaI could not have found a more appropriate Rap CD for our son. He is only 7 and what we have sampled of the "for everyone" rap music is just not appropriate. Best of all this is his favorite CD, he and his friends love it!

My 3 year old son LOVES it! It is wonderful and a lot of Fun for all. On the Homonym Game the lyrics aren't very clear, because of all the younger children singing along.
The lyrics are very positive.
author: DeVoraThanks for coming up with Mind Games. I would like to see Mind Games 2, 3, and 4 produced with the same touch of hip hop & r&b and pop flavor.
My 9 year old LOVES this CD and so do I!
author: Beverly M.Two days of listening and my daughter understands more about grammar and geography than she did in 3rd grade! The catchy groove made it all sink in. She listens to this all the time. Sooo...we want to know when you are going to follow up with another CD! Try this one, you will love it!
Mind Games has become our favorite CD
author: C. ParrisHi, A friend of mine purchased the CD 'Mind Games' to send to my children. It has become 'our' favorite CD to listen to in the car, especially going to and from school. I played the CD for the Parent's Association at my children's school and several parents wanted to receive a copy. C. Parris
Great CD
author: Pam GroomsI just bought mind games - it is wonderful. Please notify me when you have a new cd out - My seven year old loves it and I do too. Thanks. Pam Grooms
Excellent CD!
author: AnissaVery educational, yet interesting. Even adults will enjoy listening to this. This CD has a variety of styles and sounds which is hard to find in educational CDs.
lots of fun
author: EllenThis is a great CD for second grade and up. It is a little too advanced for my first graders, although they enjoy the music tremendously. They love dancing to it. It would be helpful to have the lyrics written down on chart paper when teaching them the songs.
Fantastic! It's perfect for my students.
author: Charlotte PassThis is the perfect CD for teachers of elementary age students or for teachers of ESL students of any age. The sound is engaging, and the students love it!
This Cd had my grandchild rappin' and learning at the same time!
author: M. C. MurphyFrom the Shadow of "School House Rock" Mr. Webb has truly brought education through music into the new millinieum! I initially purchased the CD for my grandchildren, but thought I'd better listen to it first. Though not a fan of "hip hop", I found myself tapping my feet and singing along. I soon realized that now I remembered all the continents and was having a great time with homonyms! Needless to say my grandchildren love the CD and play it for the music as well for the educational content. The CD and workbook combination are just what our educational system needs to give a boost to our archaic systems of learning. With a new generation comes new methods of teaching and "Mind Games" is right on point. When can we expect the next edition?
This is the best childrens CD I have ever heard!
author: c crawfordIncredible! The quality of this CD eclipses anything I've ever heard for children and most "real" commercial releases. My kids won't let me take it out of the player. The amount of quality imformation taught on this CD is great. Grammar, math, geography, the internet on one CD! Who are these guys?! I can't wait for their next cd.
