notes
"I've been asked before to make an "artist statement". A little something on how and why you create what you create.
i thought about it a bit and here i'll sum up the most important part of what i could
think of to say in regards to the subject of art:
true art is not about technique, not about speculation of what a listener/viewer will hear/see, not about re-creating.
it is all about just opening certain channels and letting light and darkness flow. just as they naturally would. it's about daring to give up any control over these things that art is NOT about. it's about going into a place where nothing else exists except for the moment and the act of creating.
It's about the soul. the heart, the pain, the love, joy, sadness, madness, hope, fear, truth. just to name a few... "

Realities
author: Jan Aage TreffenA beautiful and a original album. A real inspiration in a time. When so much of the popular culture. Has been hijacked by half naked people. With out talent.
A Truly Memorizing Album
author: Jason FThis album has you hooked right off the bat. "Though" the first track on the album is infectious. I first heard this song on the movie "Zerophilia". The hauntingly beautiful lyrics and a voice that is out of this world seals this album firmly in my head. While "Through" is my favorite song by far "Lit Up", "Waves", and "Fifteen" are contantly in my head and heart as well.
Anohter Mind-Expander
author: ThatDanGuyEdie continues to expand my sense of what can be done musically. She dares to play outside the box and it doesn't always click on my first listen...but inevitably that second listen starts to catch me...and the third has me hooked...Her voice always has me from the start!! Challenge your mind, expand your awareness, buy this CD!!!
Phenomenal CD from up and coming artist.
author: Mike GIf you haven't heard of Edie yet, you probably will soon. Her haunting lyrics and etheral vocals are spellbinding. The Realities CD is a good introduction to her work. The first track "Through" is so amazing you may never get past it to hear the other 10 or so. It was featured in the movie Zerophilia, which is where I was first turned on to Edie. Beyond "Through", I'm also carrying "Shipwrecked" around in my head right now. Watch Zerophilia, and if you like what you hear, check this CD out.
