For everyone who's tired of mainstream, commercialized rap, and R & B being played off as hip-hop; Eli Ca$h should be your new favorite rapper. Formerly Deez (MC) of Racine's own Raytown Hustlas, and now coming with a new alias and persona, Eli Cash is trying to make a midwest movement and put the WI on the map for something other than cheese. Beginning in 2000 as tongue-in-cheek rapper "Deez" of the Raytown Hustlas, Eli Cash started lashing out against commercialized rap music. Along with fellow producer/partner Justin Kral (aka Jolly Taxpayer), they formed lowKey Productions to create their own style of hip hop, and cause a buzz in their area for the first time. With thousands of copies circulating, that buzz has already spread from local to global due to heavy word of mouth support. As well as writing and producing six complete albums to this date, lowKey began producing and developing other rap artists as well by 2002. Now under the name "Eli Cash," Krekling began writing new - more personal - material, performing anywhere there were microphones or open ears. An Eli Cash website (elicash.com), designed entirely by Kral, gives fans access to exclusive cuts and design. Bringing an anti-authority, anti-mainstream mentality, Eli Cash aims to bring the original style of hip-hop back to the airwaves and beat the mainstream at its own game.

Be sure to pick up the new, soon-to-be-classic album "Kill the Radio", and to hit up the elicash.com for exclusive tracks, photos, and info. Spread the word.

A lot of good tracks on this cd. The last live track shows that eli has flow even live, no flubs at all. I saw him live before he made this cd and it was perfect. He's gonna be something big, I'm sure of it.

  • dope

this is a pretty dope cd. one of the better local cds i've heard in awhile.

  • Kill the Radio is the perfect new addition to your lowkey collection!

...it's hard not to identify Cash's voice with the speed of Twista or the cocky clarity of Snoop Dogg. Do whatever you can do to witness a live illustration of Eli Cash's talent -- the live version of "Watchout" is explosive, hot, fast, catch, articulate and raw.

  • This is what id like to hear more of
