In 2000, Ricardo Pellegrin El Kady & Sami
received the gold medal as best authors-composers
for the « World Music » category at the great international contest "SONG EXPO Benelux International"
in the Netherlands
among more than 1000 participants from 57 countries.
Their repertoire travels from Folk to Jazz,
flowing through African-beat,
Samba, Bossa, Blues and Latin rhythms
enriched by diverse poetic languages.

Ricardo Pellegrin El Kady, born in Guinea-Bissau,
is a direct lineage of the famous Pellegrin family
from St Louis - Senegal and his family is originating
from Cape-Verde and Portugal.
His partner, the author, pianist and singer Sami,
is originating from Haiti.
In April 08: El KadySami received an "Honorable Mention" Award from "Song of the Year" Dec.07 - USA

May 2008: the duo joined MTV's Soundtrack community.
Sept. 2008: El KadySami are Semi-finalists at the "UK Songwriting Contest 2008" among over 6,200 songwriters from all over the world, with 3 songs:
"Ilha dos Amores” “Stand by your Dream” “A Quiet Place” .
Also, 2 other songs are received as "Commended entries":
"I'll Show You" and "Walk Together'.
October 2008: El KadySami received an "Honorable mention" from the "15th Billboard World Songwriting Contest".

Very creative world music CD. Pick up a copy!
