notes
Bridge Over Bottled Water is the debut CD from Ellen Shapiro, who recorded the album as her senior project for high school, and put it out on her very own Psychadelic Goat Records label in August of 1999.
A fun filled glance into Ellen's world, Bridge Over Bottled Water is a 17-track rocker that, while using only Ellen's guitars, Ellen's vocals, and vocals from a friend, makes the listener feel like they're hearing a full band.
The spectacularly voiced Laura-Anne Minkoff joins Ellen on "The Next Time I Fall," a song the two co-wrote. Minkoff has her own 8-song CD, Leaving Tracks, that Ellen highly recommends, but unfortunately has no idea where it is on sale.
A labor of love from beginning to end, Bridge Over Bottled Water has meant the world to Ellen, and she truly appreciates anyone who takes the time to check it out.
So please do take a listen to the tracks that are posted here, and let her know what you think of them.
Ellen Shapiro was born and raised in Washington, D.C., where she lived and played for the eighteen years of her life.
She went to and somehow managed to graduate from Northwestern University, just outside of Chicago. She now lives in Venice, California, where the weather is much, much nicer.
