notes

Amy is currently on hiatus from performing and show organizing. However, this past year was full of colorful singer/songwriter shows that she produced and performed at most of. Here's a sampling of recent shows that were lots of fun. Any artists mentioned are highly recommended by Amy to take note of.

RECENT PAST SHOWS

Tuesday, May 18th 9-11pm @ CNOTE
Amy will play a half hour set along with half hour sets by Bobby Lynn, Leslie Mendelson & Jack Hardy. This event is free and immediately follows the singer/songwriter open mike. CNOTE is located at Avenue C between 9th & 10th Streets.

CATHARSIS SHOWS

Tues, May 25th @ Caffe Sha Sha, 8pm - 10:15 pm, FREE
510 Hudson between Christopher & West 10th, 212-242-3021
This CATHARSIS will include Boston based singer/songwriter Rosanna Lee, Aaron Gilmartin & Dorothy Potter (aka B1), Rebecca Martin who usually plays much grander venues and who is a "secret" guest at this show, wild-eyed song poet Frank Tedesso, the amazing Athena Reich, and fabulous singer/songwriters Emily Curtis, Antje Duvekot, Leslie Mendelson & Kathleen Pemble. The ubiqitous Jack Hardy may also pop in for a special guest appearance.

  • Evocative and haunting.
    author: Jeremiah Birnbaum

These are beautiful songs, sung well and excellently written. "Walking in Gozo" is my favorite, very evocative. Simple production, and upfront vocals. That's all ya need, right?

  • Now THAT'S what I call music! Nothing too fancy, just straight from the heart.
    author: Buford McGee

Man, can this girl pick and sing! Maybe some of them lip-synchin', granola eatin', ACLU card carryin' Divas should check this out to see what REAL music is all about! (I'll quit before I get too worked up.)

  • music that puts you in a dreamy trance
    author: Sasha Zuk

Lovely soprano voice & a fearless exploration of passion in all the songs... wonderful to listen to while lying in bed on a Sunday afternoon, dreaming of some far off place.

  • author: frank mazzetti

usually first efforts sound imitative of influences but ms emerman has her own voice already. compelling imagery which flows naturally.

  • Beautiful sincere acoustic effort that represents all that's right with music to
    author: Me

Pure, refreshing voice reminiscent of Jewel or Eva Cassidy... Beautiful sincere acoustic effort that represents all that's right with music today. And I haven't even bought the CD yet- I can tell that from the samples! A breath of fresh air in today's world of music as mass marketing. Genuine voice and lyrics that are a cry for what music should be.

  • The music takes you on a poetic stroll around the world.
    author: Carmen Debono

The music takes you on a poetic stroll around the world. The acoustic guitar and Amy's voice blend wonderful and soothe the mind and soul!!!!
