Fanny Alger Announces Third Album
BURLINGTON, WA -- 12/14/2005 '" Fanny Alger, the world’s first and foremost For-Profit Salvation Company (a subsidiary of Great Big Huge Company), has announced the debut of its third Gospel-Porno-Punk-Southern-Fried-Lava-Rock album, titled Lake Sixteen.
Lake Sixteen is a 14-song collection of zany sound sculptures, pressing heavily on the topic of fishing with such originals as Steelhead and Honey Hole. Other social issues addressed on Lake Sixteen include: patronizing Wal-Mart (Big Store), joining cults (Cool Aid), running a company and calling the shots (I’ll Be the Boss), and keeping the peace (Don’t Get Mad at Me). Still, more songs celebrate things dearest to the band, as in A-Town, The Brown Lantern and Vodka, to name a few.
Fanny Alger maintains a Skagit County studio.

author: John E JonesiwietzI have heard many raves about this crazy group. I heard the cd, and am currently courting the boys into a lucrative add campaign. I'm thinking Target? Keep pumping out the jams!
good bacon eating tunes
author: vic toriosi like bacon. put your shoulder too the wheel push along we all have work let no one shirkkkkkk. i would like to bury my testimony. take it to the max. love the cd..
"This might be genius"
author: MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL MagazineFour wacky guys from the mean streets of Mt. Vernon, WA. Sounds a little like NOMEANSNO/HANSON BROTHERS or DEVO or HICKOIDS or something that we have never, any of us, ever heard before. I don't know if this is s#*t or brilliant...it might take me years to figure it out. I lost it at track three, a cover of KENNY ROGERS' "The Gambler"...This might be genius. (AD) *Please note that "Star" rating was not supplied by this magazine but an approximation.
BUY IT!!! ...or sell Amway, your choice!!
author: Gertrude S. HearseEverytime I put Lake 16 in my 8 track player, it makes me cry - but just a little!! Wait, is that a good thing?!?
I love this
author: Josie DianneOK. I have seen em live...but this CD is really weird. It has all these sounds and stereo tricks. Really fun to listen to. Not sure which I like best...but buy this CD. Everybody who likes them owns it now. You have to support your local bands. This CD sounds better than any of those big productions. I mean it sounds real. I t sounds like an early Cream album mixed with The Shoes from the late 70's. OK only realy music fans will get this. It reminds me of Spongebob for some reason. But it rocks. Check out the guy with the low voice on "The Gambler". That old Kenny Rogers tune.
Local Northwest Supergroup
author: Stagnant Water FanOK. This thing has been out a couple months, they have a very devoted fanbase, sold out show, but not many CD reviews. I urge the many people who own this thing to review it. Some inside info on these guys. They are local personalities from the Northwest scene rocking it to you since the late 80's. The core is actually members of Stagnant Water who recorded with Conrad Uno at Egg Studios. This is good honest stuff here not like other bands trying to sound like the current popular bands that are "famous". I dare you to find another band as unique sounding, yet one that will have you humming along instantly to a song about some creepy neighbor from childhood. Yet it sounds current.I have seen seven and eight year old girls singing and dancing along to this CD. It just hooks you in. They accept it along with whatever Disney crap boyband, diva stuff that they dig. I strongly suggest this CD. Discover something that you can play and will have someone instantly asking you "who is this?". Good stuff indeed.
Catchy power punk
author: Eddy Blaughi got this from a friend who says they are local band. it took me a while to get into it but now i really enjoy it all the way through. first the music and then the words come through. i hear they are funny live and will try to sneak in to watch them. not green day. has that nw feel. iheard they are good friends with some famous bands.
Fantastic sonic Devo punk pop nerd tunes. Great lyrics. Topical
author: Cedric CowardGot this CD after seeing them live here in WA. Really captures the wild show. These guys let it rip with weird tales of childhood, politics, religion and yes....FISHING. If you like punk/pop with a updated 80s feel this CD is for you. Screw grunge this is the future. See these guys live too. You will be amazed. Not you average wannabees but the real deal.
