Energetic Acoustic Rock, with Driving Female Vocals

notes

Far Cry Fly is an Energetic Acoustic Rock band from Connecticut. Our debut LP, Audience Participation, represented a fantastic snap shot of the band at the time. We had just trimmed down from a 5-piece alternative rock band to a 2-piece acoustic duo, but were not yet comfortable with our sound. The audiences loved us and we often found them singing, jumping, clapping, and jamming along at the shows. We named it audience participation as homage to our fans. Disc 1 of this set is our original, unaltered, recording.

We evolved, as bands often do. Lori started to acquire an array of percussive instruments, starting with a tambourine and working up to the thunder-goddess-ish kit she now uses. Jeff learned to back off the guitar effects w/ the more acoustic setting. As our instrumentation changed, we remodeled a lot of the original songs from our album.

On the five-year anniversary of Audience Participation's release, we decided to head back into the studio to re-record the updated tracks. All songs were recorded live in one or two takes. Disc 2 of this set contains the re-worked versions.

To round off the set, we dipped into our archive and found a few extra tracks including Go Away (from our initial booking demo; always a crowd favorite), Falling (a slower version which was cut from the initial release) and two unreleased live tracks, Love is Blind and Dream Racer, which we recorded at UCONN radio.

This set chronicles our growth and we're very happy with the results. Take a listen, buy the full disc and let us know what you think!
