notes
From its light hearted look at human voracity and insatiability in its first track "Lark," to its serious meditative consideration of the evanescence of life in its last track "Passage," this album is a melodic reflection on human life, contemplating the a wide range of desires, fears, hopes aspirations and passions that define humankind.
Much like the human spirit itself, this album merges several seeming contradictions into an integral whole. Its melodies are at times exhilarating, optimistic and cheerful, and at times sorrowful, meditative and sober.
"Exile" is an exquisite synthesis of contemporary and traditional Middle Eastern styles. Its melodies journey back and forth between the two styles elegantly and effortlessly, and as such are sure to please audiences and connoisseurs of both genres.

Excellent Middle Eastern instrumental music
author: MinaI enjoyed listening to the CD. The style is similar to the music by TURKU.
Ooh, nice!
author: BarbaraLove this CD, it is a nice mix of faster pieces and slower, more sultry numbers. Great for bellydancing, music like Quartet and Katip Arzuhalim just makes you want to move.
