ABOUT THE ARTIST & THE ALBUM:

FEVERTECH. 2006. "Think Fischerspooner meets The Prodigy!"

Fevertech is the world infamous cross-humanized brand name capable of fighting impulses and freezing the soul. Slays corporate demons and liberal panty waists alike. Opinionated in the morning, rarely gives a damn after lunch. Fond of people as long as they are far away and accessible via ethernet. Produces breakbeat, trip-hop, electro, audio-trash hybrids, and bastardized pop/rock. Influenced by everything, informed by nothing. Insular, jaded, friendly, and excited to be here.

The 17-track release, "when junk has a heart," defies tidy categorization while expressing both enchantment and fear toward technology and human destiny. The CD itself arrives in a space-aware, professionally mass-produced cardboard sleeve. Inside that sleeve is a remarkable 5-inch rendering of an old-fashioned slab of vinyl - yes, it looks like a record, but magically, it plays in your CD player.

Album features vocal appearances by Nicole Rappaport, Jonas Heath, Ryan and Gabriel Bettencourtt, and Fresh Nelly. Fever delivers 3 full-on vocal tracks as well.

Wicked fresh beats with heart - Solid, solid effort, rich with intricately laced layers. Sweet.

Completely crazy hybrid techno funk babble! Kick you in the face, hardcore electro magic, that'll leave your boxers/panties soaked. Buy the disc, and bob your freakin head off!

  • Finally! Junk Has a Heart.

Human types and synthetics alike will find some common ground here to groove along with en route to the zenith. The cinematic vistas and staccato dotted line beatz all lead you along, relentless,'just so', and serve as ideal soundtracks to your sunlit pitch and yaw dives and rolls. Mr.Fevertech's arcane ability to assemble hugely massified but still economical crystalline jags of pop sound here become most manifestly apparent when heard through clean headsets; or, better yet, from within the cockpit of the listener's high performance, tricked-out grey-market concept car. Varieties of tone, carefully carved arrangments and peppery guest vox keep things always moving quickly forward; on, atop a cushion of mirage-wavy lines, drenched in solar flare wave forms. Tracks 2, 9 and 11 display Mr.Fevertech's skills in steely abundance and lead you to a state of outright wonder; track 13 will leave you no choice but to know for sure. Machined to the Nth. Right down to the graphics. Does not disappoint!

  • Buy it, rip it, blast it, love it.

Fever's latest is like a cup of Starbuck's coffee--hot, fresh, bold, and guaranteed to pump yo ass up. This CD is one of his most experimental discs to date (I counted no less than six different electronic genres), harkening listeners back to the halcyon days of "Trouble in the Mix," and a warm change from the deeply introspective last offering "Emortality." Waaaaaay too hard to pick a favorite track. Fevertech is your captain up on the flight deck, so sit back, buckle up, and you WILL enjoy the ride.
