The music of FingerWorks is a reflection of evolving finger drumming techniques drawing from various traditional sources, shaping and forming a new self as it propulses forward.
As a composer and improvisor Ganesh Anandan draws from the vocabulary of karnatic percussion, extended techniques and contemporary forms in composition. His music is a combination of drum poetry, mathematics and improvisation.
The CD FingerWorks is a fusion of the Indian soloist tradition with the spirit of Ensemble music in which oral tradition, composition, arrangement and improvisation merge.
