Her performance here in Vienna last year was magnificient. I got her other 3 CDs too, and like them all very much. Read Derek Sivers' review at the end of this page.

  • a very memorable night--available on disc! fully there almost...

rachelle is super delux tops. and the audience 3 weeks ago was remarkable/ talented/ loving/ present (at the start of 3/07) disc lacked the acute passions of her and her team's actual presence---unless you can catch it all from the sound alone--- my memory is hitched to the event and renewed in my living room/ and that grand wonderful voice can stand to be by itself too

  • light fun and intoxicating

What you see on the outside of Serenade City is the Magnificent Rachelle Garniez, what you hear on the inside will make you feel a cherry free-floating in a strong cocktail. If I could give another ten stars I would.

  • Delicious chanteuse hypnotizes with a whirlpool of Loveliness
    author: Gaston Dominick Musella

Following in the footsteps of Henry Mancini, Peggy Lee and the roots of New Orleans music, Rachelle Garniez has created a lovely album of delicious lyrics, wonderful melodies and sexy sultry singing. The eclectic combinations of instruments, the longing in her sweet vocals, and the whispers of so many past singers echoing in the background make this an album at once new and refreshing and yet classic and provocative. A very unique and auspicous debut.

If you are looking for something genuinely different, this is it. Rachelle has created a unique sound with her sultry voice, fabulous lyrics and her own stylistic interpretation of traditional accordion music. If you have a chance to see her live - do it. You will be enchanted. Thank you Rachael for the Serenade at Chibis.

I've got the CD the day before yesterday and it has been playing continuosly. Great stuff, very European, very Berlin circa 1955. Buy it, it's wonderful.

I bought this one with my hard earned dollars on Derek's advice (cf. his review). He sure didn't steer me wrong on this one!

This CD is among the pride of my collection. When I needed her sound the most she delivered. An eclectic super-powerful presence with grace, fluidity and profundity galore. Buy it. If you don't like it, bill me.

  • Rachelle is a treasure
    author: Tom Gould

Lured by the stage set up which included an accordian, upright bass and horns, I decided to stay and hear a song or two of Rachelle after a show by a friend of mine at The Fez in New York City. I stayed for the whole show and had to go home with this CD in my hands. As a songwriter myself, I am immediately struck by the lyrics which are nothing short of brilliant. As a human I am delighted by Rachelle's wry sense of humor. As a red blooded human I am taken with the smoldering sensuality of the music. This is a great CD to play first thing in the morning for an uplifting start to the day or late at night as you drift off to sleep as her words conjour all sorts of vivid images. I have been back several times to see Rachelle play and can assure you that she has more songs of the highest quality. So, buy this album now so that Rachelle can make more. You will be most pleased.

The first time I heard Rachelle's CD it made me cry. I had a stack of bad rock bands' CDs to put into the store. At 3am, I could barely stay awake, I had been working for 15 hours. Then, the VERY LAST CD, was this girl with an accordion on the cover. I put on "Serenade" and just sat there, staring at the speakers with my mouth open. It made me smile. It woke me up. It made the previous 15 hours seem worth it to get to the end of the rainbow. Then I heard the castinets in the chorus ("So please open your heart... KLAKLAKLAK ... and let me be the one to take you seriously.") Now I had a huge smile on my face. The sweeping chorus - like a movie soundtrack that the director just *knows* is going to sweep everyone off their feet and into fantasy-land. THEN - the killer... the last verse. "... you feed me green ice cream. Oh what a wonderful dream." I was in love. That CD got played 100 times in my car, and every time friends came over it was the first thing I told them they had to hear. So - anyway - it seems (from other people's feedback, too) Rachelle is good at showing up in your CD player just when ya need her the most. Derek Sivers, CD Baby
