notes
Gayle began writing songs as a brooding adolescent in a faraway place and time.
At 19, she migrated from Venice, California to San Francisco, California where her strong voice echoed off the downtown skyscrapers during a stint as a street musician.
She traveled to Europe and had her first professional performance in an Amsterdam coffeehouse.
Only 20, she lacked the confidence to continue as a performer.
Years passed and a career as a journalist eventually put her writing skills to other uses, while her musical side went dormant.
After leaving journalism, her own life experiences erupted into songs and the inner singer-songwriter emerged like a butterfly out of a ragged cocoon.
Regaining her singer/songwriter footing, Gayle has performed throughout Southern California in coffeehouses, street fairs, showcases, and special events.
She is a member of the Just Plain Folks internet musician's organization, SongNet, SongMakers, and the Riverside Folk Music Society.
Teaming up with fellow Long Beach musician Kurt Benbenek, Gayle's 14-song CD "Calling Back the Sun" is now available on-line at CDBaby.com.

Gayle's CD
author: PeoplezSounds straight out of the 60's. What we need in today's world. Great stuff.
Gayle brings the beatnick folk/blues tradition into the New Millenium!
author: Sandy WoodthorpeGayle’s clear, sweet vocals and simple, profoundly metaphorical lyrics are calling back the sun to warm winter skies, calling for connection - the eternal connection to earth - the natural cycles of day, night and the seasons. The sea is a "Turbulent Master!" Indeed. Check out more spiritual stylings with "Wave of Love," and "Blue World." Don't miss the mystical "Flying." Gayle calls to the romantic, the lonely, and all souls who yearn for rebirth.
Straightforward delivery lets these songs speak for themselves.
author: Yvonne DauphinHonest and compelling, these songs evoke an image of a Dali landscape of the unconventional. Simple melodies and uncluttered accompaniment are perfect for a voice of surprising resonance that floats through personalized, dream-like lyrics.
