notes

"Escaping to be free, travelling to understand better"

Held in seclusion for a long time, Gardelino, the latin bird, finally spreads its wings to take flight...

At 27, "G-No" is no newcomer and no winner of some TV contests, far from that...

He started in Paris, France, with New Jack Swing (the R'N'B from the 90s), and is a fan of singers like Yves Montand or George Michael. He also writes for other singers in France and was the instigator and creator of the first DVD entirely devoted to the story of R'N'B music in France (R'N'B Invasion, Warner music).
In 2002, he flyes to Nyc and works with Papa Jube (Sob's C.E.O, fugees producer), a meeting he will never forget; he mixes tracks in Harlem and learn how to become an independant artist. In music business, u've gotta be ready mentally cuz nothing comes for free..

Born in Paris with a Spanish and Italian background and ascendancy, G-No decides to stop imitating american r'n'b singers. With his fresh group of guitar players, Da Elena B'z, he gives us a well-thought mix of his own origins and of his love for Black Music: a mix reminding us of Andalusia that could be called Latin and Blues.

In 2005, G-No releases his first album, Evazion (Escape), an unavoidable stop for this artist who wants to attain freedom.

For this first flight the chosen destination is Marrakech, a place of self-questioning for G-No. The result is a homogeneous and very intimate album that takes us into the world of this young man, experiencing suffering, death, loneliness but also love. You will enjoy going through this musical book, in turn happy or full of melancholy, but surely always warm and authentic.

"Marrakech is the place where I discovered myself. The Jemaa El Fna square, where I lived, represents life as it is for me, with its mists, its poverty, and the simple joy of being alive. The Agdal, where the photo shoot took place, was the ideal place to give life to my world: ochre stones, very Latin in a way, and boulders expressing my escape from a fenced off place which is my everyday life. And here I am, alone in the desert. I think that, at my age, one loses many illusions. These last years have been morally difficult but I can see quite clearly now and, thank God, I love life."

A true artist is born..

  • very different!

well generally I only love r'n'b music, but that cat is really strange! it's like listening to an r'n'b singer with arabic guitars. I don't love all the tunes but "mon ami mon frère" or "preguntas" are more than nice

  • Amazing-----

I've received the Cd and to me, there is a true world success song named Senorita Sensual I would prefer a live album since it's very acoustic I can't understand the lyrics but I feel your pain, and I like the latin flava peace
