The name Mykl Lozin is synonymous with music in a career that has spanned more than 30 years of performances, composing, record producing and violin teaching. Mykl's notoriety was duly acknowledged by Crown Content's "Who's Who in Australia" in 2007. The book permanently records the country's most notable achievers and contributors to the society in their respective fields. Mykl's biography appears proudly in the Inaugural Queensland State Edition. Born amongst a musical family in Melbourne 1959, his 10 year 2 lesson per week training forged his early career towards the profession of a classical violinist. At 15 Mykl became the youngest person ever to be accepted into the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts for a degree in solo classical violin. Mykl continued with his AMEB exams and received his Associate of Music as well. Still a young soloist, Mykl competed in high level competitions against players many years his age and experience winning many certificates of distinction. His continued ensemble performances opened the door for touring internationally too, and at one point Mykl was performing more than two hundred concerts a year from the Sydney Opera House to the famed London Royal Albert Hall with sellout concert tours also in Japan, Red China, UK and Europe. His ability as an eclectic Composer, Master Violin Teacher and dedicated mentor is very well known with several of his students now following in his footsteps on the world stages. It was in January 2005 that Mykl was duly recognized for these two career achievements when winning a Golden Fiddle Award for Best Fiddle Teacher and one for Best Fiddle Composition. These same awards acknowledged his top violin student and her band when winning the first Golden Fiddle - Youth Achievement Award in 2006. Mykl is one of Australia’s all-round dedicated master musicians and he has performed with hundred’s of artists and recorded on more than 100 albums worldwide including a no:1 Hit with Merril Bainbridge. His own albums have been nominated three times in the USA reaching the finals in the biggest Indie Music Awards in the world held each year in Hollywood. By invitation in 2004 Mykl became a guest International Judge for these very same awards. During 2005 in the online world of eMusic Charts Mykl reached the no 3 spot, he also climbed to the no 2 position as the most popular world music composer for Australia. In October he reached 11th spot in the USA MP3 world music album charts which is a brilliant achievement also. In 2006 Mykl's music reached the number one position at Playpay.FM in Classical, Contemporary, Ambient, World Tradition and Australian Music, successfully putting the violin and even more so the electric violin back into the forefront of alternative and mainstream music.
