notes

"...Shea Callahan's more powerful and upbeat guitar input, John Lane's sharp- hitting yet smooth-flowing bass riffs, and Don Sergio's unique blend of quick and up-front drums lines and untraditional, more sub-modern use of percussion instruments, come together in the beautifully mastered album Bang..."

Boris Fedorov - KSCU Santa Clara, California

"...With each spin, this mid-state guitar-pop band's debut four song EP
Persistence of Youth sounds more and more like the find of the year..."

"...It's as if a big hunk of power-pop had been shattered on the floor and then glued back together by unkempt undergrads on a coffee jag..."

Noel Murray - The Nashville Scene

"...Consider this fair warning. Although it is still two months until the release of their debut LP, the world must now know about Green Rode Shotgun. Why? Because their record is damn good, that's why..."

The Chicago Maroon

"...Singer Jason Johnson's voice shares the kind of sneering pitchiness of Frank Black that just becomes more endearing as the record progresses..."

Clay Steakley - The Nashville Rage

"... This is one of those bands that years down the road other people will think you're cool when you wear one of their earlier T-shirts..."

Mite - The Chicken Fish Speaks

  • Wonderfully imaginative upbeat and creative! Never a dull moment

This cd is powerful, energetic and refreshingly different in all positive ways. This is music's bread and butter. A genuine blast of real music and raw talent that delivers a good vibe.

  • GREAT ALBUM BY AN EVEN GREATER BAND
    author: K Pel Pel

Green Rode Shotgun's Bang is an awesome straight rock and roll album full of amazing catchy guitar riffs, out of this world harmonys, and insightful, deep as well as humorous lyrics. If you love The Who, The Strokes, The Hives, Hot Hot Heat, The Flaming Lips, or any other full fledged rock and roll bands, then you will love this album. As for me, it is impossible for my copy of the cd to collect dust, because it never leaves my cd player. All songs are amazing, you can listen to it all the way through without skipping any of the songs. BUY IT, I DARE YOU. You wont be disappointed. Nope.

  • Great music from guys who obviously love music.

You can hear influences rise and fall throughout the entire disc, all of which remind me of other great bands. However, GRS has found their own sound in this full length album. Their earlier demo, "Persistance of Youth" exposed us to the high energy this band has; something like a nuclear power plant. Unlike many other bands who do have that kind of energy and presence, GRS also has the technical ability and taste to harness it. Highlights of this album include the songs, with some slow spots in the silence in between. That's just pacing you. Buy this CD and discover a gem of a band that after just a very small amount of polishing is getting to shine in the sun with "Bang."
