19 great independent artists band together to help Hurricane Katrina victims. This project, sponsored jointly by Disc Makers, CD Baby, Taxi, Just Plain Folks, and Sonicbids, seeks to raise $100,000 for the Red Cross Disaster Relief fund. 100% of all proceeds go toward disaster relief. Thanks to the artists and companies involved - all of whom have donated their talent, recordings, materials, services, and promotional services at no charge - every dollar raised through the sale of this disc will be donated to the American Red Cross. Not just the profits, the full price that you paid goes to support those affected.

The 19 artists on this disc represent thousands more who wanted to participate, many of whom are contributing in other ways. Such is the generous spirit of independent music. This CD is dedicated to the people of Alabama, Mississippi, the Florida panhandle, and Louisiana affected so greatly by this disaster.

  • These independent artists rival today's best music-that surprised me.

    If you want to hear some great songwriting in various genres buy this cd. I usually love 3-4 songs on a cd. This cd broke that record. I found songs on this cd that I love more than anything I've heard in some time. This cd proves that some of the best artists today are living in relative obscurity. These independent artists rival todays best music- that surprised me.

    The cd is very impressive. I only knew one band on it and that is why I bought the cd, but I am so impressed with the other 18 artist on the cd that I will be purchasing cds from others on this cd. This is a keeper and I rate it 6 stars out of 5. Also knowing you are helping out someone less fortunate than you makes you smile a little inside as you listen to the cd.
