notes
Be sure to check out my new CD, Organically Grown, at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/hagmeier2.
I have been playing didjeridu since 1994 and Middle-Eastern frame drums since 1998. I have performed at Seattle's Folklife Festival, and at other events in Oregon, Washington, and California, and have been featured at retreats in Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona, and New Mexico.
My performances include a mixture of solo didjeridu, solo percussion, and audience participation pieces that include vocals and percussion, and also give a short presentation on the history of the instrument and how different sounds are made.
I played with the World-Beat ensemble Breath of Lightning for five years, from March 1997 to Marc 2002, when it disbanded.
I have recently formed a new five-piece World Fusion band, Celestuary, featuring saxophone/flute, acoustic bass/vocals, vibes/keyboards, percussion, and I'll be playing both didjeridu and percussion.
Just released--Organically Grown! Recorded over two days in May, 2005, this new CD leans toward jazz, middle-eastern, and world fusion sounds. Besides didjeridu, other instruments on the new CD include acoustic bass, electric guitar, alto saxophone, fiddle, viola, Native flute, Turkish saz, riq, accordion, and frame drum.

Excellent CD
author: CavesOfTQLTWithout doubt a 5 star experience. Just lean back on your comfy chair, close your eyes, and let the unique sound of the didjeridu take you away to another world... Michael really knows how to get the best out of this Aboriginal instrument. And when the artiste takes time out to write you then that's the icing on the cake. Thanks Michael, you deserve every success. RK.
Take A Trip

Fascinating and creative
author: KimI pride myself on owning music from many cultures, so I couldn't resist buying this one recently. This album has some really clever explorations on it... I never thought an artist could do so much with the didgeridoo, but Michael has proved me completely wrong, and that was a really pleasant surprise. The versitility of the instrument on this recording is really amazing. Nine of the twelve tracks are solo didgerdoo, and no track sounds quite like the others. A really fascinating record, to be certain. I would encourage all fans of world traditions to give this one a try. I wasn't disappointed. Thanks Michael, for giving me a new appreciation for this instrument.
