notes
"After Two But Before Five" is the long awaited Live album from Portland, Oregon’s 3rd greatest bucket and slide duo-Hillstomp. Recorded on two sweaty August nights in Portland and Eugene, After Two But Before Five captures the band at there best-live, in a club, makin people shake, sweat and shout. Not just a rehashing of album tracks, this LIVE album contains 4 previously unreleased tracks, as well as several new arrangements of old Hillstomp favorites!
Portland Oregon junkbox blues duo HILLSTOMP is infamous for digging through the dumps and forgotten backwoods of American music, recycling traditional elements into a refreshing and distinctive brand of do-it-yourself hill country blues stomp. North Mississippi trance blues, a bit of Appalachia, and a dash of punkabilly come clanging and tumbling from assorted buckets, cans and BBQ lids, all drenched in rambunctious slide guitar. Somehow it works.
Despite their homemade instruments and novel approach, Hillstomp is no novelty act. In addition to two widely-acclaimed (whats a better way to say widely-acclaimed??) studio albums, the band's memorable live performances give outlaws and traditionalists of every generation something to get excited about.
The band's previous albums "The Woman that Ended the World" and "one word" are available on the web at www.HILLSTOMP.com or www.cdbaby.com/hillstomp and hopefully a store near you.

I've seen these guys in Kansas and they brought the house down. I love the Mississippi Fred covers! A definite must-see show. See ya soon in Spokane!
I love these guys
author: Nicole GarrettI love these guys so much I hardly know what to say. I can't listen to their music without moving something. If I can stand up, I get up and boogie! Funky, bluesy, raucous fun! Listen to Hillstomp! Better yet, see them live.
