hailing from central pennsylvania, alternative metal band hydrate has matured into a complete force in new music. rooted in various influences ranging from tool to incubus, from the used to disturbed, from foo fighters to system of a down, hydrate's evolution has tapped a wide variety of styles and genres to bring you the unique sound evident on the self-titled debut album.
after going through a number of line-up changes early in the band's evolution of 2002, hydrate found home on this album as a solid quad with no boundaries. the melodic, emotional performances of singer/bassist dan along with the unusually complex, yet listener-friendly, guitar work of seth and m. round out hydrate's strings and lead vocals. willard's powerful voice adds harmonies and other background vocals to the mix, and his unique percussion style is more musical than just simple timekeeping and fancy fills. it blends with the other instruments in an exceptional way that completes the hydrate sound.
with the self-titled debut album complete, hydrate shifted focus to live performances, new song writing, and bringing it all to the fans. the band continues to receive a tremendous amount of positive response from fans and music industry people alike. with the band's fan-base growing by the day and tons of creative energy to spare, hydrate is poised to take on the world!
