IMMOVABLE MOVER is the 2003 debut progressive rock solo CD released by the solo artist now known as DAVID VECTOR (www.davidvector.com).
The album offers an interesting listen for anyone who enjoyed Rush's more elaborate '80s work or Trevor Rabin-era Yes, Dave's major influences growing up. There are complex rhythms, busy basslines, and panoramic soundscapes in abundance, along with a multitude of contrasting guitar sounds and exotic instruments.
Some of the songs include "Perpetual Motion," an acoustic-driven ode to persistence and determination; "Captured in Time," which deals with the broader philosophic implications of 9/11 and features additional vocals by Elisabeth Marsh; "The Signalman," a fairly bizarre, left-of-center track Dave considers probably the most original piece on the CD; and "Wings of Steel," a song about dealing with failure that features a nice nylon-string guitar intro and a jazzy rideout section.
David has shifted direction somewhat since this debut disc, now exploring elements of electronica, funk, and downtempo, but Immovable Mover provides an interesting glimpse into his "formative years."

Great First Album
author: ToddGreat debut cd from an extrememly talented individual. Several of his influences can be heard throughout the album, yet it is still quite unique. There are several songs that deserve radio airplay. It is definately worth every cent.

Well, it must be "every now and then", because Immovable Mover is the best independent CD of the last several years, period. This CD can satisfy prog fans, pop fans, and even the fans that keep your car engine cool. The song topics touch at the root of the issues and dilemmas that face all of us, and in a quite unique manner. The underlying theme of the celebration of the individual pops up often; this may be one of the few modern albums that Ayn Rand would have owned. Look for well-crafted references to Greek mythology, classical movies, and the dangers of self sacrifice in the name of the "system," all blended with smooth melodies and an incredible rhythm section. Pure candy for the ears, with plenty for the mind to chew on as well - plus, the writing and execution are both technically and melodically incredible! This album is a must-have; do yourself a favor - don't be a human cog! Snag Immovable Mover ASAP!
